For many years my wife has been using this little table to make her greetings cards.

There's never been much room on it as she's usually got several on the go at the same time.

I assembled the new craft table I'd ordered for her that arrived this morning.
It is adjustable for height and angle and the top can be rotated.
It has an inset panel to work on that lifts out revealing some green baize so you could use it as a card table.

    Looks great Riley.

Doing no gardening today. We still have snow everywhere.

I'm driving with my husband to Florida to catch some sun and warmth! Can't wait!

Its 72º today, so I have most of the house windows open to air out the winter stank haha
Occasionally I get a bit of energy, so I've been moving things around, getting stuff straightened up. Need to really do a deep clean and get rid of a bunch of junk. My back isn't too happy though. It keeps twinging. Eh.

I repaired the lock on the side door of the garage.
It had stopped working so I took it out of the door. These locks have a plate that keeps all the workings in, the two tiny screws that secure it had worked loose and as I pulled it out, the plate and a lot of the bits fell out. Some must have worked loose.
Fortunately I found them all. It's a five lever lock, so it was a question of getting all the levers back where they belonged in the right order, so the key would turn. Took a bit of working out but it's done. As it was a dry day and I'm up to date with the garden, I had time to clean my golf clubs, trolley, golf shoes and clean my car.

    More DIY.

I took early retirement in 1998. "We" decided we needed a new bathroom suite. We had a "fashionable" dark brown suite fiitted twenty years before. The sink ended up in my garage.

So as I had nothing much else to do, I decided it to install it myself. Which didn't look too bad.

Ten years ago my wife found getting in and out of the bath very difficult, so we had it taken out and a walk-in shower installed, we also had new bathroom furniture. We "got a man in" to do it.

I resisted having the toilet changed, as it looked OK as it was not being in the bathroom, so it's been as it is for 24 years.

But lately the cistern had been playing up, so I decided this morning to change the lot.

Bad move! I couldn't get one exactly the same, had to have something similar after trying three plumber's wholesalers.

It was a right pain to install as nothing matched up and I had to do a lot of "fettling" to avoid leaks.

Anyway, job done after four hours and you'd never know the difference.

So! time now is 00.40 14/3/22

If I may. Friday I attended Guy's hospital cardic clinic, for heart valve check-up. I have been diagnosed with. Aortic stenosis. My fears of any surgical interventions being at a high. I had been told by the Prof. That open heart surgery was out of the question for me. I'm too old.....Yippy! My check-up was an echo cardio scan. This sounded like a combination of the washing machine, and a gurgling waste pipe. My medics were. A male and female radiographers. Both were great. The gent did the actual exam. The lady Doc. Yummy!....Mike old son. Behave yourself. Seems odd, but. From what I gather. My condition has got a little bit better. Say thank you. I asked if a hand-shake was OK. The male Doc. held out his hand and said. It's bee a privilage to meet you sir. I couldn't resist it. I gave the lady Doc a hug. So that was great news all round.
Saturday. Amanda, aka my PA. phoned teh RAC and sorted out my membership. Daddio has been forking out too much. Solved.
Now it's Sunday. Do you remember the comedian. Reg Dixon. His line was. 'I feel proper properly poorley'.
Well today, Sunday. I feel a bit low. My external plumbing is causing me hell. So i took a painkiller and spent a while asleep. So garden. Roses and all. Tomorrow is another day.

Today went to see my friend, haven't seen her for a long time first it was because of Covid and then because she was splitting up from her partner and I was waiting for her to settle into her new place.

We got four baby chickens. Two white leghorn. I'm not sure about the other two. One looks more aggressive than the other three. Maybe it's a rooster. That would be OK. Our last rooster died of old age last fall.

Making the next nine days supply of dog food. I can do it without thinking (much) now.
