I'm Dan from Minnesota. Not actually the perfect place to have a garden because of frost and other stuff but we're thriving here. I started planting chili peppers since the pandemic started and my wife and I have been enjoying our time since. I hope we're welcome here and thank you in advance.
You certainly are welcome Dan.It sounds as though your weather is as challenging as ours here in Scotland.
Welcome from Canada, short growing season here too, trying to extend it a bit with cold frames this year.
Yes, chilies are my favorite thing to grow also, as well as tomatoes. So I can identify with that. As the satisfaction of growing something which is completely free from pesticides and artificial/synthetic fertilizer - Is in itself a reward unlike any other! Welcome! By the way, there are threads here about artificial growing lights, climate controlled greenhouses, as well as hydroponics. So if you are interested in growing other things which your environment or season doesn't allow yet - Doesn't matter all that much anymore. We have had many visitors over here during the pandemic. Who decided to become food independent, (as much as possible anyhow) - So I think that's the most responsible thing to do during these times. Therefore welcome again!
Hi Dan! *waves from the north-west coast of Norway* I was looking at a map of Minnesota just yesterday because I found a letter dated 1909 from a Norwegian immigrant to one of my distant relatives. It's sort of a small world. Hop in and make yourself at home. Looking forward to seeing what gardening in Minnesota is like.
Hi there and welcome from NE Texas ! Just remember,, where there is a will,, there is a way ! Just requires more thinking !
Dan, you and your wife are very welcome here in the gardenstew! Welcome from SE Michigan. It's only warm enough for growing garlic which is doing quite well. We too are anxious to get seeds and plants in the soil.
