This little corner of the lottie is looking good to me because of the colours and diverse plant types. Walking around the complex we came upon this fancy strawberry planter:
This year the Davidii, aka Ghost tree or Handkerchief tree, is looking particularly resplendent. There are more bracts than ever!!
I'm officially disliking @Tetters' tree. I've always wanted one but they can't grow here unless our climate starts evening out a bit or we get a much bigger garden where I can create a better microclimate and I'm green with envy and that's because I love that tree but I'm not gonna admit it! Our Gentiana acaulis is blooming:
Now this is official!! I totally dislike Droopy the slug slaughterer's Gentians, because I cannot grow them here in my chalky soil When I planted this tree many moons ago it was just a little sapling and I quite thought that I wouldn't live long enough to see the bracts. Seems I was wrong, although it also makes me feel a little bit nervous.

Thanks, @Sjoerd. They like it in our garden. LOL, @Tetters and @Zigs, you cruel people! You might as well keep posting photos of that tree. I love the bracts. Your story reminds me of the man in his late 70's who planted Sequoia in his woods and was looking forward to seeing how big they would grow. I'm no better. I also planted one two years ago.
Well one thing's for sure, if I know that anyone in the future takes to cutting down my ghost tree, I will definitely be haunting them - actually I might get a warning sign made up to hang on the branches!!
