Thanks! I don't know. Since somebody posted one here years ago and I decided to make my own I guess. Thank you! There's a rock garden right behind it, and a perennial border with lots of Hostas and miscellaneous other perennials further down. It's raining today but the old roses still look good. Wish I could share the scent too.
@Droopy, what beautiful roses. They must have a beautiful fragrance too. I think the old roses are my favorites. The bring another time to my mind. @Zgs, those are lovely sempervivums. Is that sedum in the gravel? Beautiful!
Lovely Sempervivums, @Zigs. I tried some in a terracotta pot once, but they didn't like it at all so I put them back into the border. Thanks @Daniel W. The old white ones are blooming too, next to those. The fragrance is so strong it seeps through our front door and into the hallway. I'm not sorry, lol. Since it's raining so hard Hostas and ferns are the only plants that look half-happy: To the left a thick stem of Lilium superbum currently measuring 225 cm. and growing. Center stage Osmunda regalis. Hostas: H. sieboldiana, H. June, H. tokudama flavocircinalis, H. Spilt Milk and H. Francee. I'm not certain about the fern on the right.
It’s like a hosta heaven. The whole scene is beautiful and looks like a professional creation. Chapeau, meid.
Buddleia - a noninvasive, intergeneric hybrid that doesn't make seeds. Sweetly fragrant. European Linden, in bloom. Also sweetly fragrant! I planted that linden tree about 10 years ago. A sweetpea. Also sweetly fragrant (there is a trend here, LOL).
Great to see your foto of that Linde (Tilia). They are in bloom over here at the moment and the bees are filling their supers with the nectar. There are hundreds planted along the streets of our town. There tens of them out where my lottie is, so the bees are not flying far to load-up. I already removed some frames yesterday and gave them empty ones to fill in return. I do love the fragrance of the Linde when in bloom. The whole city smells sweet. Yeah Daniel—great foto and close-up of the blossoms.
That is a great lavender species. I have tried the planting the milkweed seeds right out of the pod. Some directly and the other ones I placed in the fridge first for a few weeks. All to no avail. I was well chuffed when my old bee mentor offered the plants to me.
Thank you Sjoerd yes I'm very pleased with them, going to get some more next year, they might be yellow or pinky purple haven't decided yet.
Thanks Sjeord the bees are getting to know it now and the plants are close to the kitchen window so that i can see them, the other day had a hummingbird hawk moth on them, they're visitors in the summer here.
