On this Saturday my hubby and I went to 2 estate sales in Two Rivers, Wis. Found a few good buys. We were talking about where we should go for lunch. I grew up in Manitowoc, Wis which is like a sister city on lake Michigan. I suggested Beerntsen's Confectionary. They make their own chocolate candy and have good food as well. It is such a wonderful step back in history. It was established in 1932 and is still the same as when I was a kid over 50 years ago. Anyway, we walked in and sat down in a booth. The young waitress came up to us and asked, DO YOU WANT TO SEE A SUNDAY MENU. With a straight face my hubby looked at her and said, No thank you. We would like to see a Saturday menu instead. We both broke out into a grin. Ordered a Ruben, soup, and of course a chocolate and vanilla malt. It was yummy.
Tooty, we have been asked "Do you want to see a menu?" I've been tempted to reply, "No, just bring us whatever is laying around in the kitchen." Why does my husband cringe when I start to answer that very stupid question?
