@Cayuga Morning , the grass turf was put there. Norway has a lot of grass thatched roofs, and somebody liked the idea of making the mailbox shed rustic. Here's a neater, more modern one: Next up will be the fairly old, standard ones I grew up with seeing everywhere. I still haven't managed to remember that photo.
@marlingardener, sorry, I didn't see your post before it was a tad too late. I don't like to upset that neighbour. She's over 80, recently widowed, and strict about not doing anything remotely resembling "work" on very holy days. I garden very quietly on Sundays if there's anything to do behind the house where she can't see me. Most have at least a roof unless they're in doors in town or in blocks of flats like Sjoerd's. The huts have grown more fancy over the years. Some even have matching mailboxes with matching name tags on them. All white with black letters is very popular.
When I lived in Australia it amazed me what a sense of humour I found all over the place, especially among those who lived out in ''the bush'' like I did
The big chook the big banana the big bicycle the big mosquito...... and there are more in the ''big'' series !
Tetters, I love it!! Those mailboxes are hysterical. Now I wonder if out town could move in that direction.... Give up the disreputable boxes for humorous ones.
Ha ha - ok, I veered away from the original subject. Sorry. Of course, I'm sure the appropriate openings could quite possibly be created on the ''big'' series with a bit of effort.
All I can see is a lot of question marks flying, lol. Tbh, some mailboxes you’ve shared look like they came from a horror movie. I hope they’ve not. Actually, I moved into a new house a few weeks ago, and I still can’t find a good camera doorbell. Maybe you have any suggestions, folks? I’d be really grateful for your help. The best option I’ve found so far is a Vivint doorbell camera. What do you think of it? Some people on the Internet say they really admire it. Anyway, waiting for your reply. Thanks in advance!
