This is a monster storm approaching the coast of Florida and the gulf coast . Tampa Florida is expected to sustain a direct hit. It has not been hit by a hurricane in over 100 years. 10-12 feet of water serges expected, major flooding thruout the entire state. Gusty winds and tornados have already hit the area. Prayer to protect from storms headed to Florida.. Father, all the elements of nature obey your command. Calm the storms and hurricanes that threaten us and turn our fear of your power into praise of your goodness. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen. Hurricane Ian is in the Gulf of Mexico after striking western Cuba. It poses a serious, life-threatening danger to the Florida Peninsula. Storm surge, hurricane, tropical storm alerts have been issued in Florida. Interests in those areas should be implementing their hurricane safety plans. Storm surge and tropical storm alerts also extend to Georgia and South Carolina.
Oh dear I really hope that storm Ian doesn't do as much damage as predicted and that everyone is safe after it passes on.
Thank you for you kind comments. My son and grandchildren live in Florida. They are all buttoned up with storm shutters and this will be a good test on just how strong their home is with the up coming tropical storm. Their home was built with hurricane codes stronger concrete walls, extra roof supports and cables. Very similar to how Japan has developed codes for buildings to be earthquake strong. It’s the water surges that are dangerous , flooding in all of the path zones in Florida. Two days of waiting til it hits Florida. I hope and pray it will change course and weaken] . It is predicted to hit land as a category 4 as the warm waters near the coast hype it up , with winds at 130-156 mph. A Category 4 storm can cause severe damage to well-constructed homes, including damaging most of the roof and exterior walls. "Most trees will be snapped or uprooted and power poles downed. Fallen trees and power poles will isolate residential areas. Power outages will last weeks to possibly months. For all in the path of Ian
My brother has a condo in Naples, on the Gulf, just south of Ft Myers. His building didn't get flooded, & no one got hurt, fortunately. The building is 5 feet above sea level. A couple of streets over, all the stores were flooded.
Ian is horrible . So many lost everything . And many lost their lives. It was the water surges that destroyed property How long will it take Florida to build the cities destroyed by Ian back up. Sending blessings to all those who survived Ian and to those family who lost loved ones.
And this stupid reporter actually did this to cover her Microphone on national tv while covering the storm….makes ya wonder ..where do these idiots come from…?
That’s a new one— what was she trying to do, protect the mike from rain and wind or something. She’s a sort of Lady MacGyvah ‘r sommink innit.
The west coast of the USA has been hit with torrential storms. I do hope the members of the Stew are safe and dry. I hope all people on the coast are safe from mud slides, flooding, and power outages.

Being in harm's way is not only weather, but at a celebration of Lunar New Year, at work, or just at a gas station. The meaning of harm's way is expanding. Let's all pray for those who are in harm's way, just doing their job, enjoying a celebration, going to a dance hall.
