My husband & I are currently hiking in Spain with a group through Road Scholar. We're having a great experience hiking El Camino de Santiago de Compostela. Here are some pics.

    Olé !
Good to hear from you. That sea shell in stone— do you have yours?

That church looks familiar to me. I was told that the doors were shaped that way so that the Knights Templar could ride into the church and never have to dismount.
I remember a statue of the famous Rodrigo Diaz ( el Cíd) there.

it looks like you are getting off to a great trip. Vaya con Díos, peregrinos.

My husband sent this photo to our kids as proof we are hiking the Camino.
PXL_20221009_115754850.MP_compress53.jpg Repurposed building materials. This is in León.

Catedral de León. Gothic architecture, beautiful stained glass. PXL_20221009_111318731.MP_compress44.jpg They have been cleaning the stained glass windows for the past 26 years...80% of them are done, but you can see the difference between ones that have been cleaned& ones not yet done. It's a laborious process of removing the glass windows, cleaning & re-installing with a protective glass outside.

The first floor is entirely open inside, supported by columns. Light & airy. Those turrets on the corners also let in a great deal of light.

And now for something different:. PXL_20221009_121854436.MP_compress23.jpg Street market!

This latest set of pics are so interesting to see. That market shot brings back memories.
The Catadral de Léon is a famous one. There is a hill outside Léon where there is quite a view at sundown when the lights are on and on in it. Remarkable.
    Ah, the memories.

I loved the photographs of the cathedral especially those amazing stained-glass windows. I could spend all day just staring at the details of them.

It looks like that inside foto was in a room above the entrance. It is interesting seeing your foto’s taken along your hiking trajectory.
Your hols must be nearing an end now. It has been great so far, hasn’t it.
Great that you could send some pics from time to time. Muchas gracias.
