Some time ago, I posted a pic of my coffee mug collection. Whenever we go traveling anywhere, we try to pick up a handmade coffee mug to remind us of the trip. I can't remember which forum I posted it on here, so here's another photo: So, a friend just gave me another mug, and I know you all will appreciate it, below. See if you can spot it: Here's a close up:
That's quite a collection! I've got my eye on the blue one in the bottom right corner ... I like my mugs BIG!
That is a wonderful collection. Your friend knows you well. I still have my tea every morning in my Dad's favourite giant mug. Mugs = hugs.
I like mugs too, Cayu. My themes are cows or Chinese dragons. The Chinese ones I get in a special shop in Amsterdam alongside the floating flower market. These are preferred because they have lids which is good to keep out falling wisteria debris or insects. Problem is the Bride keeps breaking them in the lottie, so I keep the farm animal mugs safe at home in the cabinet cum barn. D’ya wanna know something really crazy— most mugs don’t even get used because of breakage possibility. How sad is that.
We have a set of mugs that were bought years ago. They've never been out of the cupboard as they're too nice to put hot drinks into them. Stupid eh?
Haha make you more organized I bet! I would be famous too if people liked to look at plastic containers!
Our mugs aren't at all interesting. We've nine red pot ones (mine), from Wlkos, (they were a pound each) and six china "poppy" mugs, (my wife's) which I change every five years or so, as the dishwasher fades the graphics.
I have four favourite mugs outside of my Dad's giant Northern Lights mug that I use for tea. One is a clear green glass etched mug with a Moose that a friend gave me. Two tea mugs that have chickadees that I found at the share shed. And my most favourite...." The Dog Loves Me Most" mug. hahaha We share that one.
Chuckle. It's great hearing about everyone's obsession with mugs! I thought it was just me. For those of you with the prized mugs tethered to their spots in the cabinet:. They are still serving a very important purpose. They have a place in your hearts. (How corny is that?!) When I was a young girl, I had a miniature black iron stove, you know the kind that you'd burn wood in to cook food? This was doll sized, maybe 6" by 5". It looked real, only small. I loved that thing. I can't say that I ever really played with it, but it was prized.
