I wonder if the make ones that can be pulled by a dog. Although in my case, I would be pulling it and dog would be riding.

I was in a similar situation recently and ended up downsizing to a compact hatchback. It’s been great for city driving and parking is so much easier now. You might want to look into models like the Honda Jazz or VW Polo—they're compact but still have enough room for groceries or a weekend getaway. Being serious, my last three cars since 1996, have been Hondas, a Civic LSI, and two CRVs, all from new. No real problems with any of them. The latest CRV is now 19 years old, no rust, it's only done 68,000 miles, everything on it works. It gets an annual service, it sails through its MOT and starts first time in any weather, so I'd be mad to change it. But if I did, I'd probably get another Honda as they are "bulletproof," likely to be something a bit smaller, a Jazz.
I'm thinking about a new car, and Honda is high on my list. I was a Toyota loyalist for years. I've owned Toyotas for 35 years. But, my current one is crazy, badly designed, badly engineered. Lot of weird quirks, some are unsafe, some are annoying or confusing. So, no more Toyotas for me. If the town house sale goes through, I want to use part of the income to buy a new car. I want an e-car. No oil changes, no internal combustion engine, much simpler engine, less maintenance. It looks like Honda makes a good one. Also, KIA and Hyundai. I haven't decided yet and it might not even happen.
