Daniel W, I am a cat lover, and cat staff person. Cats are not destructive. They do what they do, and don't destroy much of anything. Humans, I agree about them being destructive--don't get me started on what humans can do to habitat. Deer, well, they were here before us, and probably will be after us. Raccoons are destructive, especially to bird feeders, but like deer, they were here before us, and probably will be after us.
That's a good list. I agree with human beans at the top. For me where I live, damage that happens that I have to adapt to and sometimes fix is Pack Rats (wood rats), mice, voles, slugs ( that's a good one - I wouldn't have thought of that but true), woodpeckers ( they like the logs and siding on the house- sometimes when a Pileated finds the house I come home to a hole and a pile of shavings), moose ( when they find my apple trees and willows in the winter), marmots ( aka groundhogs), bears ( when they find berry bushes and apple trees), squirrels, and soon to be deer I think. I've had an influx of white tails that aren't shy, and they've found a few plants this fall. First time ever. They'll probably move on when the bush comes to life though. Racoons are cute but I'm glad I don't have them. I've heard many stories of what they can get up and into. I'm thinking in reflection...slugs may go under Human beans
Actually, I grew up being a big fan of Moose and Squirrel. Also Mr. Peabody, and Boris and Natasha. And Fractured Fairy Tails. Showing my age there.
Lordy, when someone irritates us, my husband and I still say, "Big trouble for moose and squirrel" in our best Boris Badenuf accent!
