No gardening yesterday. In the am I was reception at the free clinic. It wasn't busy. I always make sure I take a big zipper bag, which I quietly use for the coffee grounds. They use as much as I do in a week or more. That's my reward (well, the good feeling I have is the reward, but the coffee grounds are fun to add to the garden. It wasn't busy, so I spent down-time reading Spanish flash-cards. Spanish class was at the community college in the evening. I was apprehensive due to missing studying early last week, although I made up for it. The teacher told me I'm speaking well for so early in the beginners' class. That left me feeling proud. Todays's garden work made up for not doing any yesterday. Tomorrow I deliver meals, study, and lots of other things.
@Daniel W - I think learning a new language is a BIG deal.Good for you. You should be very proud of yourself ( and your sneaky coffee grounds )
Fighting with patient relations about the horrible care DH had in hospital . Filed a huge complaint. Hoping to see a better resolution on this case soon.
I've been busy today, doing a bit of. "multi-taskin' Watching cricket on the telly over my laptop showing live tennis.
Chuckle. just teasing, Riley. Actually I never watch the telly during the daytime, but I can well imagine that the pickings would be slim.
Today was a big kitchen day. It is snowing outside and just hovering around zero. Chicken curry with cauliflower and carrots, and rice is made for dinner. Some quick snacks made of steamed veggies and grilled chicken to have on hand in the fridge. A neighbour has a senior sick pup and the vets are not sure whats what. I called her and said it sounds like croup cough ( he stops when he goes outside) so she came to get my large cool mist humidifier for him. Hope it helps. ( poor fella). Appointments done with Hubby, and a celebratory movie is cued up for the next half hour. First I have to bring down the wood, and go down to the barn to give Puddins fresh water and some soft food love. It's a good day today.
Today I went around the house, replacing lower intensity LED bulbs, and a few remaining CFLs, with high intensity, bright white 10 watt LED light bulbs. What a difference! It's like someone cleaned my eye glasses. I don't know if it's aging, or medication effects on my artificial lenses (2 cataract surgeries and a retina laser surgery), or another reason. But I see less well with the "warm" tone lightbulbs. Things seem to be sepia toned. I think I need the fuller spectrum of the brighter, whiter bulbs. Why did I wait so long? Now the kitchen, my office, the hallways are so much brighter! With low energy use at that. Sometimes simple things can make life more enjoyable and safer.
Tuesday was volunteer (mid day) at the clinic. I do reception. It was slow, and they are working on giving me a role doing inventory, to make better use of my time. It's best to keep me busy so I stay out of trouble LOL. Meanwhile, I filled in the extra time writing out conjugation of Spanish verbs. Who makes up all of those weird rules? Why do tables and chairs and forks and spoons and vegetables and buildings have gender? Plus there are formal and informal conjugations. Well, it keeps my brain busy. Plus, they only have two grammatical genders, unlike Germans who have three. I did the usual coffee ground collection for the garden, while I was there. Then I studied some more so I would not embarrass myself too much in Spanish class in the evening. That was fun. The teacher brought in some friends and family members from Honduras and Mexico, to chat with the students in Spanish. That was fun. The one point where I got into trouble was, when someone asked where i was born, and did I like it there and I said no. Then I had to explain why, in Spanish. Fortunately I knew the words for hot, cold, humid, storms, and bad weather. I wish my brain could learn faster. I want to re-learn German, and also learn Japanese. They should install a USB port in my skull so I can just plug in a thumb drive with other languages. I want to read books and watch movies in Spanish. Also, there is a thriving Spanish-speaking community here. Then yesterday I had a doctor appointment for a trigger finger. That was kind of not helpful. While there, the senior meal delivery place sent me a message asking if I could deliver yesterday instead of today, due to weather prediction. I did. It was chaotic, and I was grouchy, but kept a smile on my face (except when in the car alone) and said friendly things (also except when I was in the car alone), and people were mostly nice and thanked me. Judging from how the road looks now, that was a good thing. I don't know about today. Someone (not me) got into the pile of used chicken bedding a couple of days ago, and needs a bath now. So theres that. And possibly work on a quilt.
Could be! Probably the same "somebody" who stole a half stick of butter from the kitchen counter, and ate it all, while I was out delivering meals. That half-stick of butter didn't just shed its wrapper and fly away by itself, now did it? But that look of pure innocence tells me, maybe it did, LOL.
Hi Rufus ( oh my...those eyes. Impossible to be upset with those) At least the butter will help him be regular hahahaha More walks! It's all a Rufus strategy.
No, Daniel, it couldn't possibly have been Rufus. I think he's trying to explain who MAY have been responsible?
