Mel your creek is much bigger than the one here and full once all the snow melts and the current can be treacherous . Be careful… that’s why I bring my horse so I can hold on to him and a phone…
I fell in one time , it was a summer swim hole no current for the horses to cool off before heading back home. temps in the 90’s… something spooked Chotty and he flipped over of all things. It turned out to be a huge blue heron nesting near by that flew out of a bush , up and out over us. So riding back home in a wet squishy, squeaky saddle all the way home… who knew leather could squeak like a bicycle horn .

Good Monday morning all. Currently 6°C and overcast. We had a cold front move through last night and it brought strong winds and rain.
I have the day off today, which is nice because I have a lot to do! I lost my car key fob last week and so I need to arrange a new one. I have a load of empty cans and bottles to return, a visit to the town office to pay the ice rental bill for the club, and there is still laundry I didn't get to. So much for a day off!
Have a great day all :)

Good morning! We have decent temperatures--59 degrees at 7 a.m. although it is overcast. Husband put out a hummingbird feeder this morning--just the one because the other two hooks are holding suet feeders. He also took another suet cake out and stashed a 20 lb. bag of bird seed in the shed. Between feeding the birds and our cat, our "golden years" mean shelling out our gold to feed critters!
French bread dough is doing its first rise in the kitchen, and parsley will be chopped and frozen in one tablespoon amounts while the second rise does its thing. All in all it is shaping up to be a good day. Hope your day is good, also!

Good Tuesday afternoon all. Currently 1°C and snowing. It is also very windy (from the west) and so it feels a lot colder.
Had a busy day raking at work today. The cold temps made for great working weather, however the wind and snow really sucked! Hoping for a better day tomorrow.
Off to the rink, have a great evening all :)

    Marlin Texas …and Netty Ontario

I am hoping the weather will warm up here soon.. same here so tired of ❄️ rain and wind..watching twisters rip thru Texas …stay safe .

Set up the suet feeders again just hooked one on the bottom of the other wire cage. Coping with stellar jays bully behavior. I’m almost done with the bird seed. To many squirrels and of course those trouble makers digging everywhere - Chip and Dale also raiding feeders.

Netty have a great time at the rink.

Joined a walking group for first time today. Worst weather ever with wind and heavy downpour. Company was great and a hot meal afterwards. Fun making new friends. My old walking buddy took off for Austin TX for a few years to raise a granddaughter. Gardening time now for me. Will get out and level my space for the second raised bed, since I’ve dried off and warmed up.

Good Wednesday evening all. Currently 4°C feeling like 1°C and windy. We've had passing snow squalls again today, but thankfully none has accumulated. Tomorrow it will warm up again. I learned a new skill at work today ... how to trim a cedar hedge! I've always known how, I had just never done it! Apparently that is another chore added to my ever growing list of things to do at work (because I needed more to do there :smt013)
Home now and we just had a lovely family dinner and its time to relax!
Have a great night all :)

The ever growing list … sounds familiar. I have given up on trimming the photinias, laurels, years ago across the front of the property. Just let them grow up into trees and large shrubs. It is a roadside hedge to block the horses from getting out and the deer from getting in. I have some smaller shrubs around the garden that I like to trim . I put a tarp under the shrubs , trim them then carry the tarp with the trimmings trimmings and empty in the pasture and then mow over with the tractor and they magically disappear.
I have a light weight edger battery op 3’ long for hedge trimming. what type of techniques do you apply to trimming and tools?

A calm cool morning at 38 F. Feels warmer to me with no wind or rain. Just admiring the flowers that are blooming before I decide on breakfast.

Good Friday morning to you all! Yesterday the "saga of the electricity" continued. The power company said the transformer was putting out "high voltage" so they were going to replace it. The crew would be out in an hour, and we'd be without electricity for a half hour. Yeah, right :sete_019:. The crew did show up, three hours later, and we were without power for two hours. Why did I get irritated seeing one guy up the pole and three guys leaning against their two trucks parked in our drive?
Today is much better. We had a strong storm system go through last night but the power stayed on, mirable dictu! Even with the 3 1/2 inches of rain and high winds, we didn't have damage. The cat wasn't happy, but she was inside and hid under the sofa.
Today is doing laundry, preparing herbs for freezing, and some therapeutic baking. Peanut butter cookies, anyone?

Omg Jane, what I wouldn’t give for some. Seriously.

it is great to hear that you have continuous power access. It is handy, isn’t it. The Latin was a nice touch.
