recently someone told me dental cleaners work to clean fingers nails. Of course the person who told me had very fancy acrylic nails with an incredible design on each nail. Some day I will try it, only to pull a weed on my way to the car….uugghh

Shopping day today, so couldn't get into the garden until after lunch. Rain scheduled for 3.00pm. So I just mowed the two lawns and then came in. It's 3.45pm and still no rain. Typical BBC weather forecast.

Melody nails like those fancy acrylics wouldn’t last a minute here, I don’t know how anyone would want to ruin natural nails anyway. Good ole fashioned clay soil keeps mine lookin like a gardeners nails should. No description needed here. You all know the drill… no nails here to worry about..

todays pics with some garden chores.. and some blooms…chicken of the forest
    Shrooms.

Moved the hardened off polyanthus out of the greenhouse to outside and put the lupins in there from the conservatory to harden off. Not much else because it's raining.

A car load of perennials moved and planted/relocated. Still have room for more. One car load at a time. Even transplanted two Japanese maples to pots. I’d been wanting one for the sitting area but they are so pricey. Will see if they thrive or die

Found more morels mushrooms at my new home. Moving fertile soil from one location to another seems to have moved a lot of spore, mycelium and organisms also. I can’t believe the soil difference from last fall to now with only one thin layer of mulch. Nature is quite surprising.

Nothing today, I'm watching snooker on the TV over the tennis on my laptop. But I did go to Travis Perkins this morning to get some more silver sand for when there's two consecutive dry days and I can get on with my pointing.

Dug up a currant bush and removed another that has died. Got too many of them so going to plant some lupins and anything else.

Cleaning out a couple water features. Muck muck muck… yuck.. freshening up water fountains. Replacing pumps.
Raking back pine needles from a couple flower beds. Tried to mow the pasture. After a couple of passes the front tire came off the rim on the big tractor. OUCH..Hoping to get a new tire fixed by next week . It’s always somethin..

    Grapes need trimming .

Starting, very gradually, to get things moving. I'm still following Dr's orders for bed rest 90% of the time after retina surgery.

Hete's the Brugmansia. Leaves have filled in, It spent the winter, dry, in the garage.

    IMG_1703.jpeg

I gave away six tomato plants and planted four. There are around two dozen to go.

The overwintered peppers are on the deck, during the day. One remains traumatized. The others look great. Well, the dead ones dont, but Im happy with the other five.

    IMG_1697.jpeg

It looks like most of the grafts took. Here's a climbing rose whip-and-tongue. The flower is a pretty peachy double flower. I don't know the name.

The chitting potatoes look like they might dry out. I moved most to the garage. My helper planted the chitted Red Norlands. Maybe a row or four tomorrow. I can't for at least another two weeks, maybe longer.

More interesting postings Pac and Daniel. As my time to post on here becomes shorter and shorter with garden work and things at home that need doing, so seeing your postings are great to see. I look forward to them. Thanks.

I will say Pac, those grape vines look way past needing to be pruned. Chuckle. Over here we prune in the fall. Don’t mind me, I’m just teasing you.

It's likely to rain on and off all week-end.
I'll only tackle a few jobs.
As they have finished flowering, I'm going to prune the tops of the two viburnums in the front garden. There will probably be some clematis that need tying up too. But that will be it.
