Hello, like in my other topic, when the temps went from 70F every day last year to suddenly dropping to 0F it pretty much caused every single evergreen in the city to drop its leaves or turn dark brown. My Indian Hawthorne is slowly growing back but all of the leaves are on the bottom around the base. Should I cut off the branches that currently do not have any leaves? I am guessing it would increase the growth process. Thanks.
I would leave it alone til temps are steadily above 70 degrees ! Then see if the upper branches are leafing out !
Just wait. It is hard, but you just cannot know which cells survived and will regrow. Your guesses will do harm so apply a lot of patience.
Actually those temps are fine ! You can prune it but only take about 1/3 off the top ! That should promote better growth ! They like warm humid climates !
