Can anyone please help me identify this small oak like tree with black flowers. Well they are not quite black, but very dark purple when you look closely. The flowers are small. The tree is about 3 meters tall, evergreen and the leaves are a very light green, almost yellow.
That looks like my Pittosporum. I can't remember the name, as there are a few varieties, but those flowers, although quite inconspicuous are heavily scented. I will try to remember the name of that one. Adding .... it is tenuifolium ..(something) gold, I think. I have another called Garnettii - that one has a silver edge on the leaf with red dots on it. These shrubs are among my favourites. There is another with deep red leaves.
@Tetters Thanks pittosporum tenuifolium it is. Till it started flowering I thought it was some kind of dwarf evergreen oak.
Tetters good call. I have a Pittosporum tenuifolium 'Victoria'. Leaves have a pink tinge and tiny pink flowers. The deer like it too. UGH. They are easy care once established.
