Hi Sjoerd … I have quite a few different amaryllis bulbs approx. 30…I save. Some amaryllis bulbs will rebloom in summer after they bloomed in Dec. Generally the bulbs that bloomed in Dec will re-bloom in summer if they are from the southern hemisphere, Africa and Peru. The bulbs that only bloom in Dec are from the Northern Hemisphere, the Netherlands and only bloom in Nov.-Jan -Feb.. The Peony’s were a month late blooming due to a long winter. It was a nice surprise to have peony’s and amaryllis blooming the same time… a special event in my growing zone.
Thank you Sjoerd. I have been following a lot of gardeners online for years. Isn’t it amazing how much we learn every day from other gardeners. Important to share and most of all support our online gardener friends.
Only a couple of these returned this spring. Hopefully the plants will adjust fully to the soil conditions here and will multiply. I find the color of this begonia quite shocking. Am enjoying these as potted beauties. Although leggy and small flowers this native Shasta daisy I find charming.
Jewell Beautiful bright orange blooms. I bet the white daisy’s and orange colors brighten up the garden even in the darkest corners . The hostas are quite the show stopper too. Logan perfect pic of a hybrid tea rose. Roses seem to steel the show, but the lupine is a great example of a great companion plant .
Jewell— those are some beautiful flowers to see. I am quite fond of daisy's. Those mixed with red carnations are my favourite cut flower combination. Your new garden is looking nice. Loggie— smashing blooms there! Nice with a bumblebee on there.
Caught this bumblebee having a good time pinching pollen from the weigelia blooms. And the swifts are at the nesting box showing their dislike of my presence .
Those are super pics, Pac. I have never seen such a good pic of a swift. The bumblebee is so crisp. Nice one, miss.
Sjoerd…Thank you I was standing 2’ from the nesting box. There are eggs inside no babies yet. The parents were busy out front fly bombing me trying to discourage my presence. Just happen to be in the right place at the right time. The wiegelia plant blooming is right next to the bird nesting box I was snapping pics of the bumble bees. The swifts didn’t like me there at all.
Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice, Netty. Your Lupin looks a bite like my one and only one. I do not know the name, “gas plant”, do you have the Latin name?
Found this on the internet gas plant, (Dictamnus albus), also called dittany, burning bush, or fraxinella, gland-covered herb of the rue family (Rutaceae). Gas plant is native to Eurasia and is grown as an ornamental in many places.
