Good Saturday morning all. Currently 20°C and overcast. There is a chance of rain today.
I'm up, had my dog walk and coffee, boiled a bunch of eggs and cooked some potatoes for some potato salad I'll put together later with garlic scapes from the garden. Now its time to head out and cut the grass and do some trimming. There is also lots of deadheading to do in the garden now that the peonies are done. I'm hoping to get 'caught up' with the back flower beds this weekend. That should keep me busy for a while haha
Have a great day all :)

Some things here are the same as you— deadheading for instance. I have been deadheading the roses for a couple of weeks now. Geraniums too, but now the geraniums have pretty much gone over now and I will soon cut them off down to the ground and water them heavily in hopes of a second blooming. Some years they do and some years they don’t.

I love Saturdays when I can spend the day in the kitchen! I peeled, cored, and chopped a dishpan full of Roma tomatoes, then used them to make marinara sauce, which is bubbling away on the stove now.
There is a possibility of rain this afternoon, :fingerscrossed:. If so, my husband will do the happy dance because he finished the mowing yesterday. He is such a good man:heart:.
Hope you all love your Saturday, wherever you are spending it!

Thanks Marlin. We are processing harvests and planning din-din.
    I like your cheerful posts.
Coring Roma’s— how nice is that! Mine are still tiny and as green as a thumb.

Picture after a thunderstorm this evening. Purple rain a song by an artist…. well that’s the color of the garden IMG_0060.jpeg after the rain.

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 19°C and sunny.
Well, I got the grass cut, and the veggie garden mostly weeded yesterday when we decided to go visit the grandkids. We had a lovely visit with them, and the garden we put in 2 weeks ago is doing great. Today, I'll work in the flower gardens, weeding and deadheading. I almost feel caught up around here!
Have a great day all :)

Picked more Roma tomatoes, so a session in the kitchen making marinara sauce is on tomorrow's agenda. Today I'm trying to do all the things--laundry, vacuuming, dusting--that I had planned for tomorrow. Who said Sunday was a day of rest? IT sure wasn't Netty, or Sjoerd, or Melody or any other Stew member. I'm in a group of over-achievers, and I'm lagging behind!

Good Tuesday afternoon all. Currently 29°C and sunny. It sure was hot today!
A busy day at work in the heat, and I just came home and did nothing! I haven't even walked the dog yet due to the heat. I'll take him out a little later when the temperatures cool down a little bit. Discovered today that the Japanese beetles are back, oh joy. Now I need to get into the habit of handpicking them into a pail of soapy water every morning (because I didn't already have enough to do!)
Tomorrow is going to be even hotter. I miss June already.
Have a great evening all :)
