“Water Week”, they call it. There were walks, music, water taxi tours, sailing for kids, a wine fest and dragon boat races to name a few. The races occur from time to time, they are fun to watch and the participants try to win. It takes place in our harbour and here is one of the heats, the tower in the background. The Vikings were also present: A group of women trying their luck: The race in full swing: It was exciting—the drummer beating the rowing rhythm, the coxswain shouting encouragement and the crowd cheering them on. Yes, it was fun. I wonder when the next one will be.
Cayu— it was indeed lots of fun. The participants usually have some sort of costume, or partial costume; however, they must wear life vests. And there is a rescue team close at hand, which you can see on two of the foto’s (Reddingsbrigade). The Viking kit was apt. Willow— it was cool…in more ways than one. Lots of loud fun. Loggie— was lots of fun in spite of the weather. One just dresses for it.
