    An update on Lonesome Larry.

Is it a young Larissa or an young adult Larry? I don’t actually know. My Bride suggests marking it like a queen bee. I mean, Larry is fairly tame, but there is no question of actually touching him.

Larry has taken to sitting on gates and poles along the path to our garden. When he recognises us coming, he looks and then flies in the direction of our garden, alighting on another pole or entrance arch…then finally he flies into our garden and sits on the feeding station.

A couple of days ago, when we arrived he was patiently waiting atop the feeding station. Very relaxed and apparently feeling right at home.

We see Larry only seldom accompanied by a friend for a couple of days, then the friend disappears. I am wondering what the story is on him. Perhaps he has it too good and doesn’t want to share.

When I see Larry like this, I for some reason think of Texas Timi. All the lounging-about. Its like he is an avian equivalent of the now famous, Timi.

Whatever he is doing, he's a handsome bird! He has found a good spot, and isn't going to give it up.

We have wood pigeons that do exactly the same. They don't even bother if the dog is out in the garden.

Yeah Eileen, wood pigeons are real bruisers. They are all so cheeky these days.

Hiya Pac ! Great to see you.
Those are good pictures. It looks like you were viewing them from your house’s window. Ahh, what a luxury. That is such a proud-looking bird…and colourful. The babies are a bonus for you. Do you know what type of quail that is? Thanks for these piccies.
