Going to vent........I'm not sure how it is everywhere else but all the garden related shows are gone....nothing new or rumored to be out there. Hell HGTV used to stand for Home & Garden TV it's gone the way of most networks - reality shows. Don't get me started on the History Channel. Dabl was the last one had a few shows now as of 2024 all new programming. Gone are Instant Gardener, From Martha's Gardens, Paul James, Paul Allen just to name a few. Guess it's to You Tube, etc... to get my garden viewing fix. ok vent over carry on....
I agree and miss all the HGTV garden shows . Paul Jame’s ”The Gardener Guy” absolute fav. All the individual ID on great plants. Heck .. Paul James practically designed my whole garden by observing his direction and amazing knowledge. I still watch him from time to time on utube …Oklahoma state had some vids one year ago.
I miss the usual shows that I like during these winter months too, so I watch a couple of things on YouTube and I listen to a radio show that answers garden questions. It won’t be too long now before they start again. Hang in there, mate.
If you need a good YouTube person, I love Migardener. The first year I had a garden in this state I planted like I would have in Washington State. I had looked at the map and we were just a little further south then I was in Washington. I had never heard of, "lake effect". Needless to say that year (after my almost complete failure of a garden) I started looking at garden shows. Too many of them were California, Arizona, Texas, etc. Then I stumbled on Migardener. I thought he's only a great lake away, he must know something. My gardens are pretty much based on what he says can be done. He doesn't just give advice, he tells why as well.
Showing my age. I used to love The Victory Garden. Also Doc and Katie Abraham. I need to get a TV antenna that can tune through a time warp.
Daniel you might be able to find it on YouTube. I watch gardener's world but it won't be back until march sometime. I watch this guy at the moment. I also watch this one but he's in Australia
Back in the day Ed Hume was very popular in Western Washington. I kind of remember Victory Gardens. Funny, my two raised beds were put in by a place called Victory Gardens. They also did the three we have at the school.
I miss the gardening shows too, and thats probably why I very rarely watch TV anymore. I have several garden shows I like on You tube ... 3 of my favorites are MI gardener, Roots and Refuge farm, and Garden Answer. If you have a few minutes to spare, watch one of Garden Answers summer garden tour videos ... amazing!!
I watch Mike Kincaid he does a lot of rooting cuttings, but haven't seen him for a long time, he's taking a break.
Here is a link to one of the Garden Answer garden tours, from last May. I just love her tours! So inspiring!
