One of my first posts on the forum was about a sentimental pot that I have on my deck that used to belong to my best friend. Eileen was really lovely to me in that post and made me feel very welcome.

I will be planting a rose bush in the pot for Eileen this summer. She will have rose blooming in Canada for her.

It is a warming thought that if any other Stewbies wish to plant a flower and think of Eileen, she will have a garden that crosses oceans. Much like her presence did on Garden Stew.

These sunflower seeds sprouted on the 7th of this month. So I dedicate these to Eileen. Because whenever I'd share pictures of sunflowers with everyone here - Eileen would always like the post and comment.

Very sad to hear about Eileen :(

Tetters looked in and saw the news earlier, thought I'd better pop back in.

Just transplanted them all into their own individual earthenware containers. Hopefully they will give beautiful sunflowers.

I had 5 of these sunflower seedlings sprouting, but after a while another 6th one too sprouted. Which is why it's small right now. 2 of the original 5 weren't doing too well initially, However they also have recovered now - Eileen would love these for sure! I'll save the seeds from these, and every year will now be growing them, as dedication to our dearest gardening friend.

Very nice too see the sunflower updated you have grown in Eileen’s memory. I bet she is smiling looking down on this thread.

Yes Eileen would definitely be smiling looking down on this thread. As these Dwarf Sunflowers will soon become a thing or beauty.

However, I have a feeling that aside from just smiling while looking down at this thread - Eileen would also be laughing her head off periodically. Because now she would also be able to look down directly at me and my garden too...

You see, I have total control over what I share with everyone here. So you guys actually don't get to see the colossal blunders I often do in my garden - But Eileen would now be able to see everything, so from now on she'll be getting the entire picture, (uncropped)!

    :snicker:  :smt044

Okay, jokes aside, I now have a suggestion. I know that many of you guys will also be planting a tree or a plant in Eileen's name as tribute to her. Like @Melody Mc. will be panting a rose in a pot when Summer season comes - I just experience Spring and Summer a lot soon then most members here.

So while all your seeds and plants haven't grown yet. I have a suggestion - Which is that since I have 6 Dwarf Sunflowers already growing, why don't we all name each plant in a way, which will be honoring Eileen, and highlighting an aspect of her wonderful personality.

So I give the choice to everyone, let's all contribute and name these 6. For example, the smallest one which took a lot longer to sprout - Feels like The Little Engine That Could. Symbolizing Eileen's positive attitude and unending optimism.

What a lovely idea. First name for the dwarf sunflower plant could be , ‘Sparkle's Butterflies’. I miss her sparklle butterfly in every one of her posts.
