The first of the common peonies started blooming. These are ones that were originally on the property that had to be moved. I admit I am a little disappointed. Was hoping for some variation in colors and textures, but it is an old home so the old common peony should have been expected. It does add a pleasant fragrance to the house :like: IMG_8859.jpeg IMG_8863.jpeg

    Such lovely peonies, Jewell.

Oreti—Those delicate pink blooms are so incredibly beautiful to see. The other blooming plants are also gorgeous. You must be chuffed with your successes.

Oreti and Jewel….Nice pics of peony’s, lupines, cosmos and roses. And pretty floral arrangement . And I think I see a delphinium/ or speedwell tall spike of blue flowers. A couple of dream gardens.

Just the gophers poppin up. Set 12 trapes . No deer. :smt041

I have become so far behind (with the gopher issue), on so many garden projects I don’t think I’ll ever get caught up. Weeds is a huge issue and wild blackberries. One day at a time.

@Oreti love the pink lupine. The ones I got last year didn’t last the season. Don’t think they were properly forced into bloom and hardened off. Lovely to see yours plus all the roses.:setf_016:

@Pacnorwest oh the gophers, what a pain. I’ve been discouraging them with water, stomping on their excavations and letting Trixie do her terrier thing. Probably not wise:shrug: to let her dig. Know how you feel about projects. Got lots of trimmings and brush cuttings to get into the green bin, dog divets to fill and weeds I am eyeing.:sete_039:

    Thanks @Logan and @Sjoerd

Podophyllum’Spotty Dotty’ is Chinese hybrid Podophyllum delavayi . It’s deer , rabbit and gopher resistant. :smt041
Size of leaves are bigger than my garden gloves size large or size 9 shoe and there pretty red bloom hanging from each leaf. It a beautiful woodland garden trophy plant . From late February til first frost. Keeps the gophers from digging in that flower bed. Maybe I should plant more around the different flower beds. IMG_9893.jpeg
