What have you done today in the Garden?

I can remember the Million Dollar Man and Bionic Woman too @Pacnorwest ...those were the days when such things seemed impossible.

 

Gosh you have set yourself a busy schedule for today @Daniel W .

I'm just sitting with a cup of tea planning out my 'To Do' list and it's beginning to look scarily long too.

 

@Oreti i hope things go well with your injections in a few weeks.

Sjoerd thanks, the verbena bonariences are starting to grow but the flowers not open yet.

 

@Daniel Deer don’t like geraniums or eucalypts smart way to keep them trying any tasty bits. Rabbits don’t like them either.

Oh no poor Tom Tom’s. I hate flea beetles they bite too. I have them on my peony’s. They are meanies…

Lot’s of organizing going on in your beautiful garden. You’ve Got Skills ! Everything is so maticulously presented to optimize the best growing conditions for each and every plant and veggie. So well thought out.

The list is a great way to help organize time and save energy. The thing is I have a hard time stickin to lists it seems the garden can serve as a huge distraction when looking around when out and about.

@Logan I like verbena bonariences very tall nice pop up that reseeds on its own yearly.

@Oreti hey glad you remember the million dollar man and bionic woman. I didn’t realize the tv shows played in your neck of the woods back then, In the 80’s or so I think.

Ended up mainly watering the garden today...the whole garden !! Everything is so bone dry that even some of the well established plants/ shrubs are wilting away.

I decided it wouldn't do any of the remaining plants, that are waiting to go out, any benefits if I planted them is such dry ground and during the dip in the temperature. I will wait a couple more days I think.

I did pick some more Strawberries though.

 

Just did a bit of weeding.

@Pacnorwest yes verbena bonariences are good, haven't had much luck in them seeding all over the place.
I grow some in pots under the kitchen window as well and last year we had a hummingbird moth on them late afternoon to evening.

 

Daniel—Those were some important jobs. I can see that you have some chores scheduled for tomorrow.

Today in the lottie we did some work on the neighbour lady’s garden. The weeds have gotten out of hand because she fell and injured her hip. Her back was already out of sorts. So then, we started off our day there cleaning it up a bit.
We continued the weeding and schoffeling on our plots. We harvested more Sugar Bon peas and Swiss Chard. The strawbs are almost gone now, but we still harvested some. We made another batch of comfrey liquid fertiliser as well as used the last of the previous batch to feed the toms. In the end, the rains returned and we had to head home.

I have hummer moths too. They are so pretty.and special pollinators.

 

Sjoerd I am so impressed with your generosity of sharing your labor to help a fellow gardener. It’s seems hip and back injuries can be a common thread for many gardeners on this thread. Your kindness will be rewarded .

 

Those things are pretty common in women of her age…she is 82.
Ach, I hope she will not feel the need to reward us. It is what folks do. We try and look out for eachother here and help if we can.

 

I moved 4 Heucheras that needed better locations. Bob finished the Gnome’s deck and stairs, so I put the finishing touches on mulch and rocks

 

That Gnome is a lucky guy living in a mansion and a deck with a view. Steps are a nice touch . And all the details . A great place to watch over the garden. And I spy a tiny mailbox. The door and hinges such a nice touch . A good follow thru with the theme and a great imagination and addition to the garden.
