You have such good taste, Loggie. Especially the tulpies. I recognise some of those. The croci I have as well, so, of course I tell you you have good taste. Hahahaha.

Thank you Sjoerd, the tulips for the borders do well at dividing, but the ones for the tubs haven't done a lot.

Would you mind posting a picture of the aprons? I love aprons, I've made many in my day. Wow I forgot to post this the other day. I can't believe how many posts there are when I haven't been on for a couple days! I watered my potatoes, berries and garden. But mostly I did laundry. The washer broke last weekend and the new one was delivered yesterday. So we decided we could wait for it and not go to the laundromat.

This has been a very busy garden month, with new raised beds for squash, and cleaning out flower beds that have been neglected for the last four or five years.

It is still very cool with lows of 2 - 4 C and highs of 11 today. I have the heat lamps from the chicken coop on in the greenhouse coaxing along the tomatoes and cucumbers, as well as the second planting of squash and zucchini in coir pots or milk cartons to make up for loss from frost. It is supposed to warm up next week and into July, so if it is a long fall there is a chance that I will be able to harvest some squash. Fingers crossed.

The good news is that the broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower are happy, as well as the onions, leeks and spinach. :) I'm the local spinach garden for a few neighbours, and I can pick it fresh for Angus' dog food. The replanted peas are happy and enjoying the cool wet ( after the deer munched them and before the extended fence went up). The Magic Beans ( asparagus beans) gave me a big H#LL NO!!! and have decided that they should be tried again next year. Fair enough :) I will try again next year. :)

Melody nice to hear from you and the update on your garden and unwanted critters. Don’t get me started… my pasture looks like swisschese. Your garden sounds like it is keeping you outta trouble…buzzy … lots to harvest . :smt023

Thanks for the update on your veggies. Sorry to hear about the browsing there.
What exactly happened to the asparagus beans? Tell me again what asparagus beans are.
Will you be able to freeze-in some of that spinach?

Reading about your toms, squash and cues gives me a shiver. Such temps! However, the temps are good for brassicas. Your alliums seem to be doing well as well.

All-in-all, not too bad. Chapeau to you for dealing with what Mother Nature throws at you. It is so amazing how you work with it.

    Great seeing you again mate.

Thank you Sjoerd. My internet stayed on during the thunder and lightening storms over the last two days - so that is for sure a win. With the company replacing everything I think things will finally be reliable again. It was also good to reboot and not have it our fingertips though. Also with no cell phone coverage, the radio was our friend again. Like old times. :) I've really missed the Stew though.

The asparagus beans are the beans you told me about last year...yard long beans? The really long long long ones. :) I found a variety that could grow in a colder climate, but apparently not this cold. hahaha. I started them in root trainer pots, and put them out during a nice warm stretch of weather. Within two days we dropped and have hovered at these cool temps for over two weeks now. Even with covering and a plastic cold frame cover, most have either withered, turned completely yellow or have spots of protest on their first leaves. New growth is trying to emerge but I don't hold out hope. Out of 14, one is still slightly green. We will warm up in a few days, so if anyone makes it they may have a chance. But I don't foresee a long growing season which they need.

I sent some of the same magic bean seeds to my daughter and she is having great success on her condo's patio in a large black pot. That makes me happy.

@Willowisp I posted pictures on the hobby board for anyone.

I was outdoors doing some of the trim mowing in tight places. I turned it off a few minutes to visit the loo, and now it doesn't want to restart. I will get right out there and try it again. Hopefully it will after a rest.

I need to plant my new seeds right away.... I was given some honeydew melon seeds, so will try them too.

Now please don't worry @Pacnorwest ,it's just that I couldn't respond to your post that's all. Having said that I'm really sorry you have munchers that get to enjoy your Tulips more than you do. :(
