Good morning all, light cloud and light winds temp 11c to 19c Precipitation 55% Sunrise 4.54 Sunset 21.30
Look what we have at long last a big rain cloud ........over us!! We have a nice gentle rainfall watering our thirsty garden.
Just heading off out and it's dry now however there is a bit of water in the butts so it must have rained in the night too.. Happy Bunny still.
Oreti rain ….good news … happy ….rainfall for the garden. Logan ..nice sunny weather for your part of the country. During this weeks weather - a week long heat wave temps in the 100’s . The garden this July thru Oct will depend on the watering system from the well. No rainfall expected till November. At the coast temps highs in the 80’s lows 60’s
Thanks @Pacnorwest , it actually didn't rain anymore during the whole day and was quite warm but muggy. It's just started again and is quite heavy now ( 8:40 pm). It's good if it rains overnight but is relatively dry in the day...perfect in fact. We got to 22C today. Not sure if there's been much sun anywhere in the UK today, maybe the odd glimpse..
Thanks Pacnorwest, it was sunny intervals and warm in the afternoon, just like a autumn day, now it's Light rain and light winds from the west north west temp 15c feels like 15c.
Logan your perfect July weather is much like our weather had been in the past in July before climate change. Now we have a new season called Fire Season and heat waves so hot you can cook an egg on a stepping stone. Oreti happy to hear your rain clouds came back to sooth your gardens. You sky pic is stunning with the cloud patterns. Jewell your in a cool region with marine breezes . I see that your weather is warming up this week with long days of light . Most people don’t know it doesn’t get dark in the PNW until 9:01 PM. 15 hours and 33 minutes of sunlight today according to the weather map.FYI because we are so far north of the equator compared to the trajectory of the sun to earth rotation this time of the year.
Good morning all, light rain and light winds temp 10c to 15c Precipitation 80% Sunrise 4.55 Sunset 27.30 Pacnorwest, yes last July was the same but our weather can be so changeable at times.
Oregon governor has declared Oregon in a state of emergency due to triple digit Temps for the next week and wildfires. I have no problem staying inside and keep cool . It’s a good excuse to enjoy rainbow sherbet and popsicle’s. The watering system is ok. Current temp is 87F at 9:30 tonight. Tomorrow high temp 101F or 38c. Hold on to your sunscreen ladies the uv rays are closer than you think In the PNW.
@Pacnorwest - we are bracing for something similar...and I have a box of popsicles. My son and his GF are coming at the beginning of the heat, and I'm so glad they are here instead of in the city. We've spent the last three days installing extra water protection, filling buckets and extending hoses. I'm looking forward to having the prevention done tomorrow and then enjoying indoors and company. @S-H - your heat and asphalt is something I have a hard time imagining. I count myself as very fortunate. I hope all goes well for you and yours.
@Melody Mc. it’s a good deal when family comes. Enjoy your family visit. Glad to hear you are prepared for the summer extreme heat temps. This heat wave we are in is a scortcher. It’s been so hot I saw a bird pull up a worm with an oven mitt.
Finally an overcast sky this morning! Temperature too is around 35.5°C (96°F) according to the outside air temp sensor in my car. But it's morning, so it will only get hotter as the day progresses...
It's a case of 2 extremes isn't it, like last July we are below our expected Summer temps. I think heat or the lack of has the same effect on people's health and wellbeing and general day to day adopted lifestyles. It also causes issues for the agriculture sector that we will eventually without doubt all feel.....gaps on shelves or massive price hikes. Sadly it seems we all suffer with our own particular problems.....there's no escaping the world wide weather changes Having said that ..here is our chilly forecast.....
