@Pacnorwest thanks for the info, i do have a bit of trouble with brambles and i haven't come up with a solution, only cut them back like you, it should weaken it.

    Pac—great blue-purple plants. So lovely.
Those Friesian horses are indeed lovely creatures. You can see them in july with what we call Ringsteken competitions.
I loved your language up above. Chuckle.

Thanks Sjoerd both shrubs are east peasy not a hassle like many other shrubs in my garden.
Freisian horses in the ring we have similar completions here in summers. My fav is riding the horse in a running walk - very fast gate- while holding a glass of Champaign for 4 minutes . The glass holding the most Champaign wins the race. That was originally from the Netherlands summer ring races.

Just a few. Weather + siding contractor + getting the old place ready for sale are not helping with keeping my garden tidy! But I guess it's my own doing, so I won't complain.

The second of the over-wintered mini-dahlias to bloom

    IMG_8667.jpeg

The first of the dwarf dahlias, grown from seeds, to bloom. If I knew they would bloom so small (which is what I hoped for) I might have kept them in containers!

    IMG_8690.jpeg

The David Austin roses I bought in February.

    IMG_8666.jpeg

    Mixed container plants.

    IMG_8665.jpeg

Most of the container plants are in a sheltered spot, until, the house siding is completed. A lot are mini roses I'm playing with. And big dahlias not blooming yet.
