Thanks for posting that, Logan. I enjoy watching programs from UK. He's quite a chatty guy, isn't he! I thought our prediction was for 12 degrees F cooler today, than yesterday. Instead, it was just as hot. Tomorrow should see some more livable weather. @S-H, thanks for your comments. I feel for people in areas like yours, so hot and dry. I'm listening to an audiobook written by a marine who was in Vietnam in the mid 60s. His descriptions of the heat and humidity are quite vivid. Miserable! I grew up near the Mississippi river, 100 miles from St. Louis. Hot and humid in summer. We didn't have a/c. On hot nights, we slept in hammocks outside. The next day, I would be covered with mosquito bites.
@Daniel W Nowadays people here use a canopy like this when sleeping outdoors during extremely hot summer days and nights. As it's got a mosquito netting which can be closed by a zip. Otherwise you are at great risk of getting malaria, or worse, dengue fever. However this not only protects against mosquitoes and flies, but also spiders, ants, lizards, scorpions, leaches, as well as snakes. Cost is around 3.25 US Dollars, floor area size is 7 feet long by 3.5 feet wide. So if need be, 2 people can share this too, (if they are really good friends)... Also folds up in a very small size for easy storage. The trend actually started for something that could cover babes during the night, (over a decade ago). As you don't want infants to get malaria... But now it's available in adult size as well. This below is the smaller version for babes.
On in the whole our summer hasn't been that bad down here ,my only moan was , unlike in other parts of the country, the lack of rain. We've now had some so all is good. I like the temps to be OK for still being comfortably able to go about all our normal routine... We have an extremely busy day ahead of us today and the weather is perfect.
