The Good Day All Thread

It's raining, so hubby is cooped up inside, the cat is napping on her new favorite chair, and I've dealt with five pounds of bone-in chicken breasts. The bones are removed and stashed in the freezer to be used for stock, and I have enough chicken breasts for a dozen meals or perhaps more. Those chickens were very well-developed. It's a wonder they could walk! (The chicken was on sale at the grocery. No chicken we knew--our girls are safe.)

 

Good job -.chicken in the freezer. My fav , lots of different meals for sure. Very smart idea,

 

Good to hear that none of the local ladies are in the freezer. It's cold in there!!

Here's the new Hardieboard siding and paint.

I got myself feeling anxious after looking at the fire maps. If fires come this way, I have to remind myself that I did everything I could the past few years to make the house safer.





I wanted to remove that big grape vine from the front, but got outvoted. The big lilac will go, maybe soon. At least there are no resinous evergreens now.

Oh yes, Daniel— that work does indeed look very smart. I like the colour, it is almost a West-Friesian green like many folks use here. Is it green or grey?

Well, today is husband's birthday, so I have been planning his birthday dinner and prepping. He got the cutest card from his sister--"Four out of five cats don't care if you have a Happy Birthday. Really, the fifth cat doesn't either, but I do, so Happy Birthday!"
Hope you all have a happy day, birthday or not!

 

Had a brilliant day today. I met up with an old school friend for a pub lunch and then visited my brother in his care home.
It's his birthday today and they arranged a little party for him with a huge birthday cake!! Such kind and caring staff there.
