Outside gate left canna lily tropical leaf. Right salmon color million bells. Fuchsia genii-hardly in ground variegated leaf. Left snap dragons. In pot topiary fuchsia . Tree trunk seen in center of pic weeping elm…all planted under weeping elm for shade. Fuzzy Bumble bee in fuzzy lambs ear flower.
Beautiful coordinated plantings @Pacnorwest , that's one area I'm not good at as I always end up with surplus plants and it's a case of ' bung them in wherever there's a space '.....bad practice I know. My Glads. are a bit slow this year but very near the blooming stage now.
@Logan thanx the pink glad is a hardy one and been around for years. @Oreti Thankx . Your garden has amazing combo plants . It’s a little tip when there’s a wierd space somewhere I just pop in a plant in a pot.
Oh yes Pac I do that too!! Instant fillers aren't they. No my issue lies with sowing too many seeds and then not knowing what to do with them all. I also give loads away too!!
Loggie, I agree 100%. Those glads from Pac are really beautiful. That bumblebee on the Stachys is stunning.
Thank you Sjoerd nice complements. By the way…it’s all your fault that when I saw that BLT pic last night I literally made some at 10:30 PM. I guess you could say a late night snack inspired by your mouth watering pic did the trick. Oreti.. yes all those little seedlings that germinate. I usually start in small peat pots , then into 4” pots. Can’t plant out til end of June or July. I guess you don’t get much snow we get a lot some winters.
No we don't Pac some years we don't get any at all. Some pics from today. Glads are beginning to bloom. Asclepias Tuberosa ( Butterfly Milkweed)
@Pacnorwest the bumblebee on the fuzzy leaf - photo of the month! Not flowers, but I think these Gravesteins are pretty. My first apples of the year.
Oreti Peach color glad really pretty and lucky you have bloomin butterfly weed. oh note to self , right apples need to be picked soon… hope to get some this evening. Daniel your apples are as pretty as any flower. Lookin thru the hops arch. Hops are a bit sticky , but they grow very quickly on the arches every year. Beer here… It’s a main crop in Oregon we seem to have a lot of micro breweries . Sunset over the grape vines. Hibiscus bloomin. Tiger Lily (Lilium lancifolium) Widow skimmer Damselfly https://www.notesfromtheroad.com/about/dragonflies-damselflies.html Hydrangea paniculata 'Grandiflora’
That is an interesting selection of varied fotos, Pac. They are all attractive. Nice apples, Daniel. Oreti— lovely glad. The Asclepius is beginning to look good as well. Do yours last year to year, or are they annuals there?
You must have posted while I was writing a comment. These new piccies are even more exciting to see. The Cleomes and fuchsias, coleus and other plants— they look so good together, mate.
@Oreti your garden is spectacularly well done. If there was an Olympic medal for gardens you would win the gold metal in every catagory. Our front sitting area. Bumblebee on trumpet flowers. Water hyacinths Front north garden oak leaf hydrangeas center circle. Almost ready to bloom again. West garden sitting area.
