We started the "Great Refrigerator Tango". We have a 30 year old, or so, refrigerator in the garage. It's handy for excess fruit harvest or stocking up from Costco. It runs fine. We have a "newer" 20 year old refrigerator in the kitchen. It's a bit bigger, runs fine, but the low freezer is inconvenient, it's noisy (so I'm told, I never notice), and no "luxury features" like ice maker and cold, filtered, water dispenser in door. Also the new one will be stainless steel so match the other appliances. The old one is white. (Well, at least it isn't avocado green LOL). We decided to buy new one, scheduled to deliver today.

So, empty the kitchen fridge, wash all of the shelves and interior and exterior. Move it to the garage. Empty the garage fridge. Move to the driveway to be hauled away :smt022(I liked that fridge).

Then the delivery company called (10:30) they cancelled the 11:00 delivery and now will do that on Tuesday.

Oh well. With some organizing, and cleaning out bad old stuff, it all fit in the now-garage fridge. Not a big deal I guess.

I remember my parents' old refrigerator. When it was about 45 years old, the door gaskets were so hard my tiny mom had to body-slam it to close the latch. My dad bought a new door gasket but it was just as hard, so they bought a new one.

Hahaha…. A new fridge. Mate, I had no idea that you guys were posh. Chuckle. I mean the old one was working just fine, old but still working.
Personally I am too tight for such luxury.
Nevermind, you’ll have the new one in place soon. I hope all the tooters and bells don’t keep you awake at night.
Sheesh! I may be showing my age here.

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 21°C and overcast. Weatherman says rain all day, but looking at the radar I think he is wrong (imagine that)
I've been for my morning dog walk, now I'm having coffee and looking at seeds online, as well as fall bulbs. I honestly have no room in my gardens for any more plants, but seeing as I seem to have a stock pile of shrubs and perennials happening that I have decide to create a new garden. So then I thought it would be nice to order a few plants off my wish list to finish filling the new garden up! On the list is 'Nettys Pride' lily, a yellow Itoh Peony and I threw in a new daylily called 'Vegas Jackpot'. I also ordered some elephant garlic. Now to get to work creating a garden! Not sure that makes todays 'to do' list, but as soon as I can get at my compost pile (pumpkins are growing there now) I'll do it.
Todays tasks included food prep for the week, laundry, and bathroom deep cleaning.
Have a great day all :)

Netty, "compost pumpkins" are the best! Soon you'll have more pumpkins than you need. Maybe your sister will get some pumpkins after all!
Doing a bit of laundry, baking some herb bread (found a recipe that uses basil--yea!), and sorting out the refrigerator. My, those leftovers do mount up.

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently 19°C and sunny. It has been very 'fall like' for the past few days, with only 9°C the past 2 mornings. Weatherman says the temperatures are on the rise again and in a few days we will be back into a heat wave. In the spring the rabbits were very plentiful here and were eating everything in sight. They ate my favourite 'Star Gazer' lilys so I knew I wouldn't get blooms. When I saw some bulbs at Dollarama I bought them and planted them in a pot in the confines of the veggie garden. Those beauties are blooming this week, and the scent is incredible! So ha ha on the rabbits, I get my Star Gazers after all!
Have a great night all :)

Netty good news you got your stargazer’s. They are a magnificent fragrant lily. Always seems to lift our spirits just to know they bloomed for us. :smt041

Nice day out but I'm lazy today. Did a little puttering.

The new fridge is pretty nice. No leaks, which I'm happy about too.

Good Thursday afternoon all. Currently 21°C and sunny. It was a nice day today, not too hot and not too cool. Thinking about it now, I think it was a perfect day!
Came home and picked some tomatoes and ate some for dinner. I am really enjoying the 'Kelloggs Breakfast' tomatoes again this year, as well as the green zebra. I haven't found one I don't like yet, but those 2 are the most plentiful ones for some reason. One more day to get through and then it will be the weekend and I can't wait.
Have a great night all :)

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 14°C and clear. Its going to be a hot and humid day today.
We celebrated my SIL's birthday yesterday, then came home and cut up some brush from a tree my son trimmed.
Today is going to be another busy day ... food prep, more brush to cut up, gardens to deadhead and weed, veggies to water, plums to pick, tomatoes to pick and lots of other little jobs. I can not wait until next weekend, which is a long weekend. Theres so much to do!
Well Sjoerd, heres a picture of my 2 pound 'Hillbilly' tomato. It was one of 9 that I harvested from one plant, and there are still 7 more on that plant ripening!

Holey Moley that’s a huge tomato. 2 pounds that should make a lot of sauce. :smt023:smt038 I’ve never seen one that big. Makes your hand look like a child’s hand.
