Still loads of buds and blooms to enjoy. Our 9 days of wet weather has done our garden a power of good. It was looking very jaded due to our lack of rain this summer I think ..but now it's been rejuvenated !! A few Pears and couple of Apples picked this morning.
Thanks @Sjoerd , very kind of you to say so. On the whole it has been a disappointing year but at least it seems to be ending on a bit of a high. Certainly cheered me up as Autumn always depresses me.
Oreti stunning pics and flowers still bright and shining in your gorgeous inspiring garden. Dahlias are always the best to have blooming they last til the first hard freeze here. If it rains they get a bit mildew on the leaves. But a real treat this time of the floral season . Your fuchias also look great. I bet you knew that your fuchias are eatable. The deeply purple berries that appear are sort of juicy, tangy, sweet delicacy, you can eat the flowers too. Wouldn’t that make a fun Holloween treat. Is that an ‘Autumn Joy’ stonecrop sedum. They are great easy care plants in my garden for many years. Gopher, mole, deer proof. Lots of blooms that are now calling all the bees out for a last trip to bring pollen to their nests. I think I see anemones too. Amoung all the garden treats . I see apples and pears. A wonderful combo for delicious treats . Baked apples and pears are a fav around here. And among the vast collection of foliage plants I see a beauty of a red Japanese acer Palmatum tree standing guard in the green sea of foliage surrounding the stately little tree. Still poppin are some pink hydrangeas, and a small swath of pink bulb flowers ? Dotted with colorful variegated foliage plants not sure what they are, but wonder if you could pass the info on? Your garden is a plant exhibit with a variety of trees, shrubs, perennials , annuals , so well combined in a ‘ Brocade’ of richly decorative woven flowers , colored foliage and sometimes with a dot or two of expressive decorative accents, just to keep the viewer on their toes. A autumn treat all at my finger tips. Thank you for the wonderful enchanting tour. Extremely impressive…
Oh Wow @Pacnorwest ..thank you for your very kind and generous comments. I don't know...well probably did but have since forgotten..as usual, the name of the Sedum. We do eat the Fuchsia berries but have to say I haven't thought about harvesting the blooms to consume as well. I think I prefer to leave them where they are really. Really pleased with the red Acer, that was a cutting I took from a beautiful one the grew next to the largest pond in my parents garden....it was a stunner! You certainly know your plants!!.... would you mind being my first port of call when I need identifications sought please? Your knowledge of names amazes me.
