    Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone who celebrates has a wonderful day. My youngest daughter was here for two days. She requested leg of lamb instead of the traditional turkey dinner. And we ate a very small part of Gord the Blue Hubbard after a skilled clever job from Hubby. RIP Gord....you are (were) delicious. :)

Interesting post Mel. Lucky dogs and fun memes.
Sounds like you had a great time with family and cooking favorites for everyone.

    Thank you. :)

@Sjoerd - it was a nice day. My daughter and I hiked into the hills surrounding the creek. We ribboned our Christmas Tree so that we could find it again after it snows. Then all of us drove to the river and did some fishing, and we went to the lake. All of the yellow leaves were washing in on top of the waves - it was quite pretty.

Dinner was a leg of lamb at my daughter's request. We had a garden feast with it. Roast squash with caramelized garden onions and graded cheddar, baby garden potatoes, pickled beets, the last zucchini sauteed as a Greek zucchini with sweet marjoram, parsley and feta, a baked onion ( Hubby's specialty baked with a touch of butter, garlic and brown sugar, wrapped in tin foil), and some homemade mint jelly from the wild mint at the river.

And of course a small glass of Champagne with a Thanksgiving toast, with some laughter and happy tears about what we are most thankful for, and a kind statement to each other about what we appreciate about each other. A tradition my best friend started when I had a house full of grumpy hormonal teenagers, and we carry it on every year. :)

Ahh, that sounds so nice. Really warm and meaningful. What a good tradition you have.
Your food was to die for. It sounded so tasty, no…delicious.
