You guys may remember the two threads that I wrote called, “A Day Off”.

That is the way it looked on the “Revisited” thread. Now they are closing the gardens until Spring; and as they promised, all the veg was gathered when they cleaned the plots and the veg was gathered and taken to the Food Bank. What a haul that was. In this pic the crates are shown and a large number of the volunteers.

As far as I’m concerned, they all deserve a medal…or perhaps to be taken out to dinner.

Isn't that wonderful! Such hard work and truly generous gift to the community. I agree Sjoerd - a medal is well earned. They all look very happy. :)

Thank you for the follow up pic @Sjoerd.
I agree all the volunteers deserve a medal. The gardens covered a lot of acreage and the volunteers kept the allocated spaces in perfect condition . Also set an example for a good harvest from a group of very dedicated gardeners . The lucky recipients who received the harvest gifts. :sete_005:

You know @Sjoerd your post has given me a lovely warm feeling ...thank you. The world news is unimaginably depressing and it's heatbreaking to see what , supposedly, civilised humans can do to each other but then out of the doom and gloom people like you, your fellow gardeners and amazing volunteers stand out and bring a breathe of fresh hope and optimism that there is goodness still and the willingness to hold out a helping hand to those less fortunate.

You're all champions in my eyes. [IMG]
