That's interesting @Pacnorwest . I wasn't expecting frost so soon. My app doesn't predict it, but the national weather service does.

I won't mind if it frosts.

Thanks @Pacnorwest , it certainly is. Full of fabulous Cruise Liners most of the time. The Titanic sailed from here .
A couple more pics for you... Resize_20241021_195749_9504.jpg Resize_20241021_195749_9755.jpg .....I love the city.

@Daniel W we do have similar weather. Most winters we are usually stuck in the clouds and fog, the marine layer with little chance of vision past our front lawn until windy conditions. It’s been light frost here for the past few days. Usually out in the pastures where there are no trees or building cover , with max exposure to the elements.

@Oreti thank you for the lovey pictures surrounding the area where you live. Beautiful and colorful accounts of a busy city and waterfront.

@Oreti have you experienced any of the cruise options from the port nearby? What a great opportunity.

No way Pac  .....!!! Isle of Wight, and at the most France is as far as I can cope with!!! When land isn't visible I get panicky.

A friend works for one of the major Cruise Lines here in Southampton and when the big liners dock and they are being cleaned and re-stocked ( some do turnarounds the same day as docking!!) they open up sections of the Liners and offer tours.... with a full course meal too. We were fortunate as we got free passes. Most cabins I felt were quite claustrophobic apart from one 1st class suite that had huge panoramic windows all the way around and had an upper floor luxury bedroom. It even had a Grand Piano in the lounge of the suite too.....amazing as it was I still wasn't tempted to book a holiday.

I'm not keen on flying either but you get to touch down on land quicker !!!

No despite living here on the coast I'm most definitely a land lover.

The Liners are a sight to behold though and some are so very huge and tower over the nearby buildings they are beautiful and very majestic looking. We had 3 huge ones berth up on Friday the only downside is the mayhem they cause to the city roads. The traders and the hotels are kept happy though.:smt041:smt041

@Oreti I’m totally with you about cruise liners or anything that floats. I get seasick way too easily. Whale watching was a miserable trip as I spent the whole time feeling like I was in that movies riding huge waves called , “The Perfect Storm ”. Ugh…
Even seasick meds don’t help… motion sickness is tricky. The minute I step on to land after on a ship the seasickness completely goes away . I guess I need a new gyroscope.

Tomorrow’s weather is pretty much an instant replay of today’s . High 58F, low 40F mostly cloudy grey skies.
