Mel— I also had two that shot. That is unknown here. Well, I chopped it up and ate it anyway. Waste not, want not— wot?

Pac— Having a gopher as a mascot is funny enough…but the opportunity for puns is attractive.

Good Sunday morning all. Currently just 7°C and sunny.
Another busy week is over, and Sunday is supposed to be day of rest. There will be no rest here today, there is too much to do!!
Food prep, laundry, cleaning, and lots of gardens to clean out. And a hyper puppy to keep amused!
I was informed Friday that I would be needed at work for another 3 weeks, even though the gardens are almost cleaned out. So life will continue to be crazy for another 3 weeks!
Have a great day all :)

All those tasks for Sunday. Just garden clean up is a huge task. All that adds up to a busy weekend, plus a hyper puppy? What kind is the puppy? That pup will keep you super busy.

Not sure how old or how much training your pup has had . I adopted another new pup last Dec, from a rescue center. A border collie pup. It took me months to undo all the bad habits and now she a really big help around and a constant source of entertainment. Good luck .

    That's fantastic! It's a big job, training a pup. I know she's a happy dog now!

I have a puppy for eight days. My friend is vacationing in Mexico. I thought her puppy and Rufus got along very well so I offered to puppysit.

Well. Rufus wasn't happy at all, having a rambunctious puppy in his calm quiet home! He's been mostly staying in his room. Lots of reassurance plus letting him have some privacy. Fortunately, he seems to be adjusting now.

Other than doggie drama, We are trying to prepare for winter. Last year there were power outages, so I bought a generator this summer. Today we had a test-run, and it works. I meant to have power outage drills monthly. But time passes quickly.

Good luck with your puppy-sitting. Sending my best wishes to Rufus.

@Daniel W Good to hear your new generator system is working up to par. It’s inevitable that during a wild winter storm that loosing power is always a factor with so many trees around us. Thank goodness for the wood burning stove.

Sounds like Rufus is just trying to be polite around a hyper lil pup. Hugs and kisses for Rufus.

The only training left for the new pup is nail clipping. You would think a huge monster is attacking while she fights for her life . I have to hobble her just to get in a couple nails clips to show her is not a monster.
Well time will tell. Lots of treats handy during the nail clipping process.

Good Friday afternoon all. Currently just 9°C and overcast with a chance of showers.
Its been a cold few days. We went from 24°C and humid on Monday, to 9°C today. I got so cold mowing at work that I had to go get a blanket!
Home now, and I've walked the dog and getting ready to leave for the rink soon. Excited I get to sleep in tomorrow!
Have a great evening all :)

Netty—it could be ironic that the very excitement at the prospect of sleeping may, in fact, keep you awake. Better drink a beker of warm milk. ;)

Today the puppy's owner has returned from Mexico, yay! Now she'll pick him up today and Rufus will be an only child again.

He adjusted to the puppy, mostly, and quit hiding in the bedroom, but I think he'll be happier to have the place to himself again, peaceful and more calm.

After all of the garden work yesterday, I made a pot of lentil & red kidney bean chili.

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 2°C and sunny.
I've been for my morning walk. Thunder still doesn't like to go too far, and today I'm not going to argue. I've got lots to do!
I've got 4 different kinds of beans soaking, and I need to cook and can them. This busy month has been hard on my pantrys bean supply! Food prep today then hopefully outside to take advantage of nice weather and get some more gardens cleaned up. I also have bulbs to plant, and a couple of perennials to find homes for. Never a dull moment around here!
Have a great day all :)

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 6°C and raining. Nothing like an unexpected day off due to rain!
SO many things I can think of to do, I just don't know what to do first!!
Maybe I'll have a coffee and think about it! Maybe I'll put on a load of laundry first. Oh and put some cleaner in the toilet. And start the dishwasher. LOL
Have a great day all :)

@Netty now I understand why you call yourself a chaotic gardener. I totally get it. Way too many jobs at once can get a bit overwhelming. Take the time today to put in a little Netty free time. You deserve a day off.
