Such a clear night last night it was quite bright outside .Frosty start to our day here but hopefully the sun will deal with that. Debate is on as to whether to make the most of the beautiful day and head off out for the morning/ lunch before dropping by th visit my brother.
Early this morning we had a flurry of snow showers, but now it's sunny and a gentle breeze from the north west temp 3c feels like -1c.
The weather here is off the charts: rain, sleet, hail, ice-rain rain with hail, rain with sleet, wet snow…all with stiff wind gusts, blowing the leaves around like confetti at a wedding. It is a great time to be on here, answer e-mails and relax.
Lots of rain here too. It is what I remember from years past and feels normal, but feeding the chickens and bringing them in at night can be a muddy situation. Still, they supply us lots of eggs for very little effort on our part, so it's worth it.
Daniel—That is good that your chooks produce well for you. They must be well and happy. Do you have to treat them with medicines of some kind to keep them healthy and parcite-free?
They have a medicated feed. I haven't seen any parasite problems in a long time. A number of years ago they were sick. I researched it and bought sone medicine which cured them.
An active pattern remains in place this week as multiple systems bring heavy rain, life-threatening flooding, and higher elevation mountain snow to the West . In the West, back-to-back systems from the Pacific and an accompanying strong Atmospheric River will bring waves of very heavy rain and high elevation snow to the Pacific Northwest with the first wave continuing through Wednesday evening into early Thursday and a second wave peaking Thursday night.
