I love Ducks! A few years ago, we had a pair of Mallards that came to spend the days in our back garden. They got very used to us and were fun to watch and interact with.
We have two ducks. The continuously dig into the soil for bugs and slugs and worms and who-knows-what. They are fun to watch, but very dirty birds. Mud everywhere. They are worth it for the entertainment. I think duck egg production is better than chickens, but I don't care for the taste of duck eggs.
We had kaki Campbell ducks for ages. My son found old photos with him annd our first layer and decided he wanted to have ducks again. Unfortunately, His busy work and school schedule postponed it. Probably for the best right now with the avian flu being so bad.
