Daniel— mate, you just keep making enviable accomplishments.
The Amaryllis and poinsettia still life just looks so smart. Brilliant.

Yes, its all brill, but the dendrobium work really is worthy of a well-done, at the very least.

Thank you Sjoerd. I’ve had these big plants for years over 25 and I’m getting tired of lugging them in and out .
Even with roller saucers. The bird of paradise has never bloomed no matter what I have tried, but the dracaena fragrans 'Massangeana's has bloomed several times. So much fragrance It smells better than any candle.

Pac, those are very beautiful! You are the Hippeastrum magician. Oh my.

I don't know if my over-summered one will bloom. It's looking sad right now. Big firm bulb, so who knows?

That white Phalaenopsis orchid too. Just beautiful.

Thank you Daniel. :) The Hippeastrum magician … They are all magical flowers. I have an amaryllis called
‘Magical Touch’. Maybe that’s what all the magic is from it bloomed July of last year -see pic below. It’s a bulb from the southern hemosphere - Africa, Chile. They will always bloom again after first bloom for x-mas in May thru July.

Bulbs from the northern hemisphere the Dutch bulbs from the Netherlands will bloom from Nov - Feb.
There are also some bulbs from Florida. But I have not have good results from them. There bulbs aren’t as large .

‘ Magical Touch ‘ this bulb blooms in May - July and is from the Southern Hemisphere.

Pac— yes the moving can be tiring, I get that. Those plants of yours really do ask to be noticed.

I up-potted the second (and last) bunch of Pelargonium seedlings. They will be in the border next year, and a few for containers.

They were becoming too crowded in their six-pack.
    IMG_0562.jpeg

They were not at all root bound. I think the leaves need room to flourish.

    IMG_0564.jpeg

I planted them in 3-inch round, or 2-inch square containers. That's what I have on hand for them.

    IMG_0565.jpeg

These are the Maverick series of zonal pelargoniums. Scarlet, coral, and white. They grow fast enough, I think they might be fine to start from seeds in Jan or Feb.

Meanwhile, this was a cutting I started last summer.

    IMG_0568.jpeg

I sort of rescued this one, with some TLC. I hadn't seen this color Pelargonium before. This is its second bloom cycle this winter.

What a treat seeing your Pelargonium work…(and results). Oh mate, they are very nice indeed. You are the only person that I know that grows them to bloom in the winter. It is not common here. The folks just take cuttings or prune them seriously and place them in a cold and poorly lit room til begin Spring.
Yours are so lovely to see. Good work.

The mini rose that I pruned back severely on Dec 6 is almost ready to bloom.

    now
    IMG_0626.jpeg

    IMG_0408.jpeg

The other two are a bit behind that one, but growing.

The seedling pelargoniums are growing nicely.
    IMG_0627.jpeg

    So are the carnation seedlings.
    IMG_0623.jpeg

They had a tiny houseplant carnation at the grocery store, a couple of weeks ago. I bought one and it's blooming now. No scent.

Daniel— not all the dwarf carnations are scented, are they. I hope that you do get some scent going though. They look good.

Your babygoniums are especially looking smart. What green fingers you have.

…annnnd the roses— mahvelous. I particularly liked how you pruned that one. I looked more carefully this time at the nodes and the cuts. Full points.
