Get everyone! Happy 2025. Here in the central US ; Nebraska, we are having another mild dry Winter so far. I’m not certain we’ve had more than 4 to 5 inches of snow total, and just some drizzly dampness. The thermometer goes up and down with very cold followed by a day like today which may reach 60F. It’s very different from my childhood, when we’d usually be blanketed in snow from December through March. I’m hoping Winter goes by quickly and I’d love a good rainy wet Spring.
We are still in our January cold snap. The outdoor thermometer says 25 now, so don't trust the app display. I finally learned, leave the outdoor water bowls for the ducks and hens, upside down overnight. Then there's no ice and it's easy to fill with warm water in the am.
