Winter berries in the garden are a treat for gardeners craving color during these cold and rainy months, but more importantly for hungry birds. Here are a few of my favorite berries that always add color.

    Catoneaster. & English Holly

    Juniper berries (Incense) & Wintergreen

    Mahonia. & Aruba Japonica

Nandina (not for birds) & Indian Hawthorne

    Ten beautiful shrubs.

Sjoerd never to shy to share the rewards from winter’s many evergreen shrubs and trees red and blue berries.

Today found some plants in bud starting to show their bloomers. Camilla, heaths, lenton rose, primroses.

Although worn by rain, freezing temperatures and wind this variety of primrose are hardy and later will become covered in little blooms. Here are a few of the color variations in the garden.

    Yellow, cream, blush and red

A welcomed hobble around the garden ( the last 4 days have been too damp and slippery to attempt with crutches).

Mine too @Jewell .....just wish that I was able to clear their surroundings more as we've had some really strong winds lately, they are mostly all buried under mounds of leaves. Nevertheless its so uplifting to see them poking their beautiful heads through the messy borders and bringing hope for the forthcoming year in our gardens. :D
