    Netty—Dear, oh dear, oh dear…
That white stuff is giving you grief. I know what that is like from my Alaska days.

Well there will be time for those daggone wabbits later.
    Stay warm, mate.

Good Saturday morning all. Currently-9°C and, you guessed it, snowing.
Spent most of yesterday day shoveling out and cleaning snow off roofs. It's starting to feel like that movie 'Groundhog Day', where every days is exactly the same. I got the yard and driveway perfect thinking I had a few days until the next snowfall. Thought it wouldn't be asking too much to wake up to it looking the same but Mother Nature had other ideas. My hands and fingers are are so sore from gripping shovels/blower handles/steering wheels that it feels like I am the middle of fall garden cleanup. I decided to try out my Moms copper bracelet and it seems to be helping. Off to the rink this morning, then home to batton down the hatches for tomorrows big snowstorm that will be bringing us another 20+cm of snow and high winds. We just can't seem to get a break from the snow this year! The snow is almost to the top of my 4 ft high garden fence. If you look carefully at the 3rd photo below, you'll see my arched trellis that stands about 9 ft high that is half buried in snow.

    Off for my dog walk!

Netty pics of snow covered landscape looks so peaceful for now. With the next storm coming your way it’s gonna be full of snow drifts . It is a good idea to stay ahead of snow clean up. Especially before it iced up. Sorry to hear your fingers are feeling the constant strain. Snow can be hard on us as Mother Nature socks us in. The good news it eventually melts.

Our area is shut down and socked in again today. Extremely icy roads. Highways clogged from cars that look like figure skaters sliding on the ice up and down the hills. Bumper cars on the side streets. Not even chains on icy roads help with traction.

The Portland Winter Light festival in going this weekend… unless your walking no way to drive to Portland on ice.
So it’s a stay home and stay safe weekend.
And as egg supplies can’t keep up with demand from the chicken exposure to bird flu in the US is forcing farmers to slaughter hundreds of their chickens. Very sad. Eggs are as high as $12.00 a dozen.

Winter has clobbered us with 6” of snow in the last 48 hours.

Netty— Astounding snow pics. It boggles the mind. I really do feel for you and all the inconvenience it is causing you.
At this moment I cannot wait until I can again perspire in my sunny garden. Spoiler alert: I will, one day, regret these words.
    Hang in there, nice lady.

With the outdoor snow, we focused on indoors. Rufus had a spa day.
    IMG_0883.jpeg

Clippers are ok for torso and the top of his head. For face, legs, paws, he only allows scissors.

After a bath, he ran around like a crazy dog. He has a sweater for walks, but we can't do that until the road is safer.

Rufus looks like the whole spa day is what set off the Zoomies. My dogs do that exact same thing.
Rufus is happy and he’s spotless again and with his new hair doo, it fits him to
    a”T”. :smt055 Hugs for Rufus.
And a few cookies for being such a good boy. :smt041

Today was a low key day, and the "to do" list was mostly put off until tomorrow. Angus is thrilled to not have to wear his booties this afternoon for his walk. We hit - 10 and he was okay going for a walk about without them. In the mornings he goes outside and checks things out, and then comes in for breakfast. If it's cold, he lays down at the door after breakfast and sticks his legs in the air for his booties. What a clown. - 12 seems to be his cut off these days, and its been mid - 20s in the morning for a few weeks.

@Netty - you have our sympathies - you guys are getting so much snow it's making our news. We feel for you. You deserve a nice warm spring more than anyone. I have two arthritic hand and wrist tools that I love - one is a counter top hot wax machine that deep heats the joints, and the other is a funky little hand massager that my daughter bought me. You put your hand in like a heated clam shell, and it puffs up and massages your knuckles and wrists. I forget that I have it sometimes, but it is helpful. I've been eyeing those copper bracelets.

Tomorrow is repotting some indoor plants and seeding some seeds for summer. The asparagus seeds are beginning to pop up, as well as most of the onions and leeks.

Netty these reminded me of you :)

Melody the hot wax hand spa treatment you mentioned for arthritic hands is also great for sore dry feet. It is a great way to allow the total relaxing of sore hands and wrists. The hot wax I use is lavender oil and scented helps to deeply moisturize dry hands as the olfactory also helps to soothe and relax the whole body. Hand spa available at Walmart.
And the oily wax cools comes off easily , ready to put back in the spa container and use another day.

Good Sunday morning all. Currently -8°C and snowing. Today's winter storm has been talked about all week, so I have stocked up on supplies and will be staying inside until its all over. Except for Thunders walk, we will still be doing that as he needs his exercise or he drives us all crazy haha I've got lots of inside jobs on the list today ... food prep, laundry, and some cleaning. I also want to do some more organizing up in the craft room and touch up a welcome sign my oldest daughter made me years ago. Looking out the window at the weather only gives me anxiety so I will not look outside until the snow stops. My fingers are feeling almost back to normal, not sure if its from the copper bracelet but I am thankful. I'm going to look into the hot wax machine, thanks for that tip @Melody Mc. and @Pacnorwest I might even do some reading today and maybe plan this years garden.
Have a great day all :)

Good Monday morning all. Currently -17°C and clear. The snow has finally stopped!!
Today is the Family Day holiday, so its a long weekend and most things are closed. I hope to spend some time with the grandkids today.
But first, the dig out. I didn't move any snow yesterday at all. Once we hit the 29th hour of snow, it got dark so I'm not sure how much longer it snowed. I've made arrangements for my neighbour to come by with his farm sized blower today and clear and widen the driveway for my fuel delivery coming tomorrow. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that was the last of the snow for a while. :fingerscrossed: and that my delivery actually happens.
Off for my dog walk, have a great day all :)
