My monstera is about 15 years old, I’ve read they like to be root bound which works for me ~ I dont need it to get any bigger lol

I know what ya mean some of my house plants are old and getting a bit sad looking in winter. Dry heat and little sun. They tend to perk up in late spring thru the summers.
I’ve had better luck keeping mine in bright, indirect light with watering only when the top few inches are dry. Also found it grows faster after I started using rainwater.

It's funny but just out of boredom I calculated how much oxygen that plant must have produced for you in the house since the last 15 years - It comes out to 960 litters! Which is around 254 gallons! Monstera plants are known for their ability to help improve indoor air quality. They do this by absorbing harmful pollutants such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and releasing fresh oxygen through it's photosynthesis. I calculated the amount of oxygen as a plant like this one (with so many healthy leaves), will produce about 7.5 milliliters of pure O2 per hour, (a rough guess on my part). Which translates to about 180 mililiters per day. So we multiply this with 365, and we get around 64 litters a year. Now we multiply this by 15, (number of years), and we get 960 litters! So just imagine the benefits of having this beauty for 15 years!
