I have always faced numerous challenges planting chili, particularly with blossom end rot. Recently, I planted three cayenne chili plants, and they are now yielding fully mature red chilies. I finally succeeded. I planted them in pots in an area with minimal or no rainfall. On hot days, I water them with approximately one cup of water daily. On cooler days, when the sun is not strong, I only water them when I notice the leaves starting to droop, using about one cup of water. The soil mix comprises about 50% raw compost, 50% earth, and one cup of finely crushed eggshells.
KK— I don’t know what to say. That is just the best of news. Mate I am soooooo happy for you. Well done ! You found the correct formula for your place and conditions. It really is something to celebrate.
Wow beautiful plant with chilies hanging so proudly. Growing them in a pot seems to help control the growing conditions better. Congrats
Thanks Sjoerd I am so very happy too! Pacific thank you. Yes, growing in pots allows me to have more control. I have just planted two more seeds to yield more fruits for making chili sauce. I am very happy.
Sorry Sjoerd over in this part of the world it is only called cayenne and sometimes it is very hot red chili.
