I had no idea this was a real job! It sounds like such a unique summer experience. I can imagine the smell of the tulip bulbs being really strong after hours of peeling.
I like the post too !! I especially liked it because Tulips think they are being roasted in S. Georgia so they aren't put in the ground. We buy bulbs for forcing to keep in the house. When I was in Germany it was not Tulip season, darn it !! I did want to go and see the tulip fields.
When we lived in Texas I loved the spring when the bluebonnet fields were in bloom. I (like pretty much every parent) took my granddaughter out for pictures. After a few years of that I decided to switch and take her picture in a field of cotton. We lived there for 6 1/2 years so I have several years of each. In the little town we lived in there was even a hillside of crimson clover. Made me think of Tommy James when ever I saw it. I had never seen it before moving there. I grew up with the little white clover and the bigger purple field clover. I always thought crimson clover was just something he made up for a song.
Sounds like a tough but rewarding experience! I remember doing seasonal work that felt endless, but it built character. It's cool how these jobs shape us and teach patience.
