The Good Day All Thread

Good Thursday morning all. Currently 8°C and overcast. Rain is in the forecast today.
Had an old friend of hubbys stop in yesterday, that is a retired electrician, and he got the plug in for my new grow lights working for me. Unexpected visit that made my day! Then we decided to take Thunder to the park, and discovered that my front brake was stuck on part way there. Thank goodness for ditch water, I was able to cool it off enough to get back home. Now to figure out how to get it to the shop to get fixed! Luckily I have another vehicle to use to get me out to do my errands and shopping today. Always something lately. Oh and my satellite signal has been acting up lately, and I have no TV this morning to watch the news. Probably a good thing, because the news is always bad anyway haha
Its gonna be one of those days.

 

Starting to see some green in my beds tulips and iris are starting to come alive.

 

Good Friday morning all. Currently -7°C and clear. We had very strong winds overnight, but it is calm now. Hoping I won't find any damage outside when we head out for our walk.
The wind may have actually helped dry up the ground, which would be a good thing.
I got all of my seeds sown yesterday, and that made me happy.
Today we are headed over to the rink to help with gathering costumes for our upcoming ice show. With only one week away, we need to get things out and washed and ready for all the little skaters to wear for our show on the 29th.
Another busy day ahead!

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 4°C and overcast. Looks like rain today, and dropping temperatures.
Heading to the rink soon for the final regular Saturday of the season. Next week is the big show and so its going to be a busy week!

Good morning everyone, how are you all doing?
@Netty I hope you managed to sort out how to get your car/ truck over to the garage to get it fixed.

@Daniel W you've done really well and now sound as if you're ready to face the challenges that your summers can bring you.

I've been concentrating on increasing my mobility and have now conquered the buses and have even made it twice into the city for lunch this week. I also managed to vist my brother ....hadn't seen him since the week before Christmas ,I had been forwarned that I could be in for a shock as he has deteriorated.....he didn't recognise us at all , made no sense when talking and needed help to guide a cup up to his mouth.....so very sad. He's on much stronger meds now too so seemed calmer and dare I say it...content. This really is now all we could wish for for him.x

Mind you I do get pay back for embarking on such 'outings ' with painful sleepless nights afterwards, but that I guess is all part and parcel of the recovery process. Unfortunately we didn't attempt making up to London as our eldest had initially suggested so that he could cook us a meal to celebrate Nowruz...but hubs did and the two of us celebrated still.

My leg feels heavy today and very stiff so having an easy time , a bit late I know but I have just put some Sweet Pea seeds to soak overnight.

Good morning all! Our weather has taken a turn for the better--warmer and the winds have subsided, at least temporarily. I'm doing pulled pork in the slow cooker today. That, and doing some kitchen cleaning and knife sharpening is about all I have planned. We'll see what the cat has planned for us!

 

Good Sunday morning all. Currently -10°C and clear. Sun is nice, especially since the high is only 1°c today. It has been very windy, but this morning everything is calm.
I was up late working on stuff for the skating club ice show next weekend. At this point I'll be glad when its all over!
I think I'm getting some visitors today, so I'll do a tidy up before heading out on my dog walk.
Laundry and food prep today too.
Never a dull moment.

 

Good Monday morning all. Currently -1°C and snowing. There is a thin layer of snow on the ground this morning.
Spent the weekend working on stuff for the ice show, so today I'm going to give some attention to clean up around the house.
The first of the seeds I planted are starting to sprout, and I have a few more things to plant. It's always hard to get motivated to plant when there is snow falling outside.

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently -1°C and overcast.
I'm up bright and early to work on ice show stuff, before heading out to get DD's skates sharpened. Its going to be another busy day working on things for this show. I am going to be so glad when its all over and I get my life back! Thankfully the weather hasn't been great so I'm not missing out on any outside work yet. On the positive side, I have some seeds sprouting! That reminds me that this cold weather will be coming to an end soon.

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently -5°C and overcast. We got a little bit of snow overnight, and it looks all white again. But just barely, it should melt off soon.
I finally got DH's tax forms yesterday, so today I'm headed over to an accountant to hand over all our required forms for this years tax return. Its been stressing me out, so I am so glad to finally be scratching this job off my 'to do' list. We will have a quick visit with the grandkids too ...I have a tub of goodies for the kids from Gramps garage and a bucket of sap for their Mom and Dad to boil down. And tonight is dress rehearsal for the ice show, so its going to be another busy day.

Good Thursday morning all. Currently -7°C and sunny.
A nice morning, there are lots of birds singing. Weatherman is already warning about the freezing rain storm ahead for Friday night into Sunday. My area could receive accumulation of 20+mm of ice, and 6 mm is enough to start snapping trees and power lines. I'll be keeping this in mind when I'm out doing my errands and shopping today. Extra gas for the generator, propane for the BBQ, bottled water and groceries. I sure hope it doesn't happen as our long awaited ice show is scheduled for Saturday, but I'd like to be well stocked.
I hope this is the last blast of winter weather, I am ready for spring now.

Netty, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, hoping the freezing rain doesn't materialize. We are predicted to get much needed rain Friday. I certainly hope so--it will save totin' water to the newly planted perennials!
Nothing much planned for today, perhaps baking some bread and (ugh!) dusting a room or two.

Up bright and early to head to the workplace for half a day of cleanup. I'm having my coffee, then taking Thunder for a walk before heading out. It is still dark out so my walk might be a little short, but he will get another one when I get home at lunch. In the meantime, he gets DD all to himself all day!

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 0°C and freezing rain. We are under a freezing rain warning until Sunday at noon. There is already an accumulation on the trees, just hoping that it warms up once the sun rises enough to keep it from freezing. Weatherman made it sound like Armageddon and I sure hope they are wrong. Today is supposed to be the long awaited ice show and I'm hoping it wont be cancelled. I guess we will find out once the sun rises. One good thing happened due to the weather though ... the annual Seedy Saturday has been moved to April 12th, which means that now I will actually be able to attend!
Its going to be a long day today, and I'll be so happy when I wake up tomorrow when its all over. haha
