Here's a better look at these strange plants. Zigs took 350 photos over two days to show these were moving continuously. I've never seen anything like it before!

I've contacted the local newspaper about it, got to start somewhere :)

Great video who woulda thought how the cactus follows the sun . Plants that follow the sun are called Heliotropism, or solar tracking, is when a plant follows the movement of the sun during the day. I think Dancing is sexier…

This is not a case of the plants following the sun, which you can see from the way they move by night as well as day. They move in different directions as if looking for something.
At the moment, Zigs is offline, as his computer seized up. It may take him a couple of days to get back as he doesn't have most of his passwords to get back in on his new computer.
He has set the camera to watch these plants, with the inclusion of small bowls of water to see if that's what the plants are searching for. Watch this space.

Tetters the dancing cactus did remind me of plants that follow the sun. If not it’s a great phenomenon to watch. Appreciate Zigs videos. Will Miss Zigs humor and videos hope the computer snafu is over soon.

Been a very slow year so far, this time last year I had several flowers on both Cacti and Succulents. This is all I can manage at the moment

This was a rescue from last year, looks like a Crassula flower :)

:D They haven't got the Triffid sting but they'll get you with the spines under the wool  I'm thinking of lashing Captain Neem Oil to the end of one this summer when they wake up again. They slapped him over last year

This Mammillaria geminispinus was a present from one of my Youtube viewers last year. It's not flowered since I got it but it had a seed pod last year which has given me several seedlings already :)

    DSC08809.JPG

It's now popped out 3 more seed pods

From the location on the plant they must be from flowers that it had at least 2 years ago, possibly 3 :)

Will be doing the first watering of the year tomorrow. The cacti don't get watered from the end of September as they go dormant over winter. Takes about 50 gallons of rainwater to water both the tunnel and the cactus house.

The weather has warmed up a bit now and it's a bit overdue, I've been holding off because of the low temperatures.

This is a bit of the tunnel in the sun this afternoon :)
