Another online purchase of mine, which I am extremely happy with! So here I'm also going to document it's progress.

    This is how it arrived.

What variety is it @S-H ? My friend keeps propagating Haas avocados from the seed from store-bought fruits. They sprout easily, bit won't survive here in winter without a greenhouse.

It's a mystery Avocado, as whenever you grow them from seed, they are hardly ever true to the mother plant.

So either I'll graft this with some other type of Avocado. Or wait for 3 to 7 years to find out what type of Avocado it is - In my opinion all types are nice, so I'm in no rush to graft. I just hope I don't have to wait too long, as some can even take up to 12 years to give fruit.

I actually had no choice in the matter. As this was an online purchase. With no information in the product description. But since this was my only shot st getting an Avocado plant, I decided to buy it now, and later figure out what to do with it.

In my country, yes, now they are starting to farm Avocados commercially, (as it's a cash crop). But in my locality where it can get extremely hot during summer - I think I'll have to provide it with some partial shade, as well as cool it down by misting.

I sort of envy the ability to grow tropical fruits :stew1:. Especially dates and citrus. And coffee beans. But when I think about it, I'm happy with what I have.
