The Good Day All Thread

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 4°C and overcast.
Weatherman says rain today, and so I have the day off work. I've got lots to do at home, so I am all for a day off.
I have lots of cleaning jobs to do, and a quick trip to the bank. Hoping for a break in the rain so I can get a little bit done outside too.

We were all prepared to have our new HVAC installed this morning, but we got a call from the service department to tell us the installation would be delayed until Thursday because some of the installers called in sick. Ah well . . . .
Our day will go back to normal, perhaps with getting some yard work done and I'll bake. I bake when I'm frustrated, when I'm happy, when I'm bored and when I have some time on my hands. I have a sneaking suspicion my husband is trying to create happy and boring situations!

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently -1°C and overcast with strong north winds. The winds howled all night long, and woke me up a few times.
I'm off to work, and I doubt I'll be getting any raking done with these winds. Perhaps its a tree cutting kinda day.

Good Thursday morning all. Currently -1°C and clear. Weatherman says it will be 10°c today and sunny. I'll take it!
Off to work, then errands and shopping after work. I'm picking up all the fixings for our Easter dinner on Saturday.
Yesterday at work, I was working on clearing a tree blocking the walking trail and heard screaming and dogs barking and a huge ruckus. A person screaming 'Noooooo' gave me a bit of PTSD from when my dog was hit last year. It went on for a good minute and I tried to follow the sounds to see what it was/help but it stopped. I carried on with my day, thinking about it. When I got home and was on Facebook, it turns out there was a dog attack on the next road over ... someone walking their dog was attacked by another dog and both the dog and person required stitches. They are still looking for the dog, and the lady may have to get rabies shots. Horrible! And I heard it all!!
Hopefully a more peaceful day at work today.

Good Friday morning all, literally! Today is Good Friday.
Currently 8°C and overcast, with rain forecast
I was wanting to continue with my yard cleanup and burning, but the rain will keep me inside today. I'm having a family dinner here tomorrow so I'll do some food prep and make my grandkids favorite gluten, soy and dairy free chocolate cake. Sounds kinda 'blah' I know, but this recipe makes the absolute best chocolate cake I have ever had!
I may try to clean the shed later, if the rain isn't too heavy. There was a squirrel in there but I have evicted it. It made quite a mess!

Our new HVAC was installed yesterday, finally! The workmen were nice, neat, and pretty much on time, We are so glad to have it done. Seems nothing is easy anymore . . . .
Today we are recuperating from having strangers tromp through the house. The cat wasn't best pleased, either! I have ham bone broth cooking down, and later I'll make a pie crust to rest overnight in the refrigerator. Cooking is so soothing, and so much fun!

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 11°C and overcast. We had thunderstorms overnight, and the power went out for about 5 minutes. My son woke me up to tell me that, in case the sump pump was still needed and the generator needed starting. But as soon as my feet hit the ground the power came back on! I went back to bed, and slept until 5:30.
Today I am having a big family dinner, so the grandkids will be over. I somehow sprained my left thumb, so I'm going to need help with getting the turkey in and out of the oven. Always something with me lately!

Good Sunday morning all, and Happy Easter!
Currently just 2°C and overcast. Weatherman calls for sunshine and 10°C today.
We had an amazing dinner yesterday, and some fun spent together as a family. But today, its back to work outside! I still have lots of small branches to burn, gardens to rake out, edging to get done, compost to turn and onions to plant. Hoping to get it all done today

 

Good Monday morning all. Currently 4°C and overcast.
My seedlings need some attention today. I'd like to up pot the tomato seedlings but it is still too cold to be out in the greenhouse. Weather this week is still very cold at night, so I'm not really sure what to do with them. I may have to set up another plant rack in the house in the kids bathroom upstairs ... they are not going to be happy with me!
If the rain holds off I'll get some work done in the veggie garden today.
