Daniel— too right. Having their long leaves hanging about for so long after the blooming irritates my Bride. Chuckle.
Irritates me too @Sjoerd !! I try and plant Daffs and Tulips in tubs if possible but still have a fair amount in the borders though that annoy me some what as both plants dieback very messily. Can't wait to get rid of their leaves.
i just "hide" them with a more robust plant behind. I have some Iris's that will catch the eye in early summer, and lupine in mid/late summer that will bloom the rest of the season in the general area and i still get my daffodils back every year!
It doesn't bother me when the daff leaves fall over and turn yellow. Yellow is a color. I have self seeded red spider lilies all over the back of the property. I just leave the leaves there until they all disappear, then I mow it. Less mowing is a plus !!
